You can now lower your cars using consumer scanners
When I had my E55, I had a shop use STAR to lower it (before I installed coilovers)...well, now you can do it via some Autel and Foxwell scanners.
Yesterday, I lowered my W221 S63 about 1-inch using my Autel MaxiCheck MX808 (around $200-300).

This has been possible for years. The concern with this is that when you modify these values, if you ever want to go back to original without knowing the previous values, you'll be in for $600+ at the dealer for realignment of heigh sensors, plus alignment of vehicle. So, upwards of over $1,200 all in is what I paid.
