The E55 can stand handle its business on the street after all these years

The E55 never ceases to amaze me, as this last weekend I made a 4 hour trip to the GA coast, and got challenged in the process. I was 2 hrs in, and a 2013-2017 or so corvette runs up next to me, he at least had exhaust work done and manual tranny. I geared down to 2nd gear around 4k rpms and went to the top of third. I was several cars ahead at that point and he would not pull back up next to me.

Next run in was on my way home with a 340I M bmw, which again exhaust work as I could hear his turbos pretty good and was pretty loud. This time we went at it from 3rd gear 4k rpms and gapped him badly, I don't know much about those cars but thought they are supposedly pretty quick.

Last run in was with another corvette, similar year and he got gapped badly too. Needless to say with a FSP 74mm blower pulley and long tube headers only, RACEIQ tuned. I was proud of the old girl.

Nice 'business.' Taking down vettes is impressive. I really should mod my E55 a little!

05 E55 (06 E55 RIP)
easily believable. im @15psi on a 74mm+LT setup and I've shocked and surprised a lot of newer cars. FBO 335i, every E60 M5 I can get to dance and played cat and mouse with a hellcat charger easily. the 120+ pull the m113k has is still very revalent today.

Nice work man! What I have seen here in the Netherlands is that a lot of owners from new non-performance EVs think they have the fastest car on the road. When in reality most of them probably swapped their 10-14 second car for a 7-8 second EV car. That is a major performance bump, but nowhere near enough to stand a chance.

Also the 1.4/2.0 liter turbocharged engines are very common here. With normal driving those can be pretty swift, but on the 100-200km/u they all loose badly against the v8 powerhouse. Golf GTI's 5 / 6 / 7 / 8 etc are very popular here. With some bolt-ons they get around 11-13s, which is still a long way from 9.5s for a stock E55/CLS55 let alone a mildly modded E55/CLS55 hehe

My favorite cars to handle are the guys driving the newer Challengers and Chargers. They do have some fun power but its like because they have loud hotrod exhaust they think they are kings of the road. These guys always drive around town real aggressively etc. I love when one finds me on the highway and the E55 just walks so easily!

This place is a joke.
Went to pass a stock Godzilla (GTR) after entering the highway, he thought he'd deny me the opportunity but once I hit third gear he went from my rear door to falling behind and soon gave up. 172mm crank pulley, long tubes and 82mm throttle body. Beat a Hellcat Challenger from a dead stop to 60. He couldn't get any traction. I just hit 160k miles on the odometer too.

You should see the looks on their faces when it's a wagon, too.

72mm, kleemann mids, tuned.

The most unassuming sedan produced back then (hell, today too?) - I surprise people daily with my car. Nobody expects it, at all. Especially from a mid 1st gear bottom 2nd gear romp. The looks on their faces are always priceless ... complete SHOCK.

Nice job, OP..
