Taking the E55 to the track Monday for the first time.

Going to a track rental at Atco Raceway in New Jersey Monday. Bone stock for now. Hoping for an 12.19 or better. Temp should be in the low 60's. I'll try with and without traction control.

I'll keep you posted...

Good luck. The Cartek guys will be down there. From what everybody has told me, Atco is a great track. Most of the Z06 guys set their best times there. I wish I were heading down for this. To be able to run an 11.9X on stock tires off the showroom floor would really be something to be proud of.

Many of the Z06 guys were at E-town with me last week. So they won't be surprised to see your times. Keep us posted!!!

I know Paul well. Small world.

The only thing I can tell you is what I did. Do a short burn-out to clean off the tires and get them a bit warm. Put the ESP back on.

Left foot on the brake. Right foot on the gas, giving just enough revs to feel the car press against the brakes, maybe 1,000 rpm. 2nd to last yellow light, start squeezing the gas to 1,500 rpm and let go of the brake. Then squeeze the throttle to the floor within the first 40 or so feet. Little yellow light may flash, but it doesn't really stop the party.

Good luck!

The drag racing community is small. You have probably heard of my 9 sec. Viper then(Red GTS with White stripes).

There is a chance I can't make it now, but if I do I will keep you posted.

Thanks for the advice...

twinvipers -

Did you show your red GTS at a 'rare classic car show' on Palmer Square in Princeton NJ late summer? If so, I saw it! Amazing car.

PS - If it wasn't you .... there's TWO of them :p

Not me

Was it a DLM S/C car with White stripes ?

If so, it was probably a 600-700rwhp car.

Looks like someone is coming to buy my 996TT tomorrow and I won't make the track rental. If anyone wants my spot, show up at Atco with 150.00. between 9-10:00 AM.
