2005 E55
Trying to return it to stock exhaust (to pass NYS inspection). I purchased new CATs from MB and stock manifolds from ebay.
The right side downpipe is not angled correctly to bolt to the right side manifold.
Either the new CAT pipe is angled wrong or the ebay manifold is incorrect.
Does the E55 have a different right side exhaust manifold?
According to the MB parts catalog the left side manifold is only used on the 211 & 219 platforms while the right side is listed as used on a number of differnt platforms including the 209 (CL55) and 230 (SL55). The total list of platforms the right side is used on are: 211, 230, 203, 219, 209 , and 171. This also indicates the natually aspirated 113 engines use the same manifold.
Fixing supper right now but will post more later. Just went through this. In fact, a month ago I purchased the last new old-stock right-hand side W211 M113K E55 exhaust manifold in the world to replace mine. I'll post photos of a right-hand side W210 M113 E55 exhaust manifold versus a W211 M113K E55 exhaust manifold. They are significantly different. I had my broken manifold welded and kept it as a spare. Would be willing to sell and ship it but no warranty on it
I had the left-side exhaust manifold welded and reinstalled as no new ones are available anymore.
Note to self, lift car and do not drag exhaust over garage floor lip as that will eventually break exhaust manifolds...

Options for you include shorty headers. Dan Syster has a set he might sell. He's implementing serious upgrades to his car.
The W210 M113 normally aspirated right-side exhaust manifold is the one with the piece of exhaust pipe attached. The end of the manifold is longer and the manifold slightly "taller" when flat on the flanges. The W211 M113K right-side exhaust manifold is definitely smaller. Perspective messes with the photos but I included three to give one an idea of the difference.
OP, if interested, PM me. I'm willing to sell and ship to you. Otherwise the manifold will just sit in my garage next to my spare M113 na engine and 722.6 transmission (doesn't everybody keep spare engine and transmission in their garage?).
