Supercharger pulley bolt

Have been trying to get the supercharger pulley bolt off so I can replace the bearing, however the bolt just wont come off.

I used the hose clamp method but under the torque, the clips on both the hose clamps simply squeezed through the metal prortusion they were supposed to provide leverage with .

Any suggestions? Would penetrating oil help here?

I used an impact gun, simply by lifting the fan enough so I could stick it through the fan housing. I use a Dewalt DCF899NT which has 950Nm max torque

@nd-photo.nl did you use an extension? I removed the entire fan shroud but there still isnt space for an impact there.

Yes with an extension indeed. I remember it was a pretty straight shot. If you have ample room, your engine mounts might probably be shot...(your engine will be sitting lower then)

You can lift the engine a bit with a jack beneath it.

A little heat will help too.

@nd-photo.nl thank you for suggesting the dewalt. I went got the dewalt dcf 900 and omg, that thing is a real beast. I had been trying the harbor freight bauer earlier without success. I would have gone with heat next like @SICAMG suggested.

Couple of further questions
1. unfortunately, that black piece is all scratched up, I hope that does not have any functional implications.

2. Am planning on using this kit to remove the bearing -> https://www.harborfreight.com/bearin...maddox+bearing

@cannawhat no worries, I also got stuck with a bolt and after investigating I also bought the DeWalt and I was able to get a stubborn bolt loose haha. Listen too my reactions in this video (first time I started using it)

1) You should be ok as far as I know. I believe the whole thing is magnetized when its engaged.

2) Use a workshop press or the hot/cold method. I used the hot/cold method

So I was able to push out the old bearing by simply using two 4X4's and a hammer and a bearing and race tool. However there is a white portion in the inside of the pulley. Is this normal?

Hey guys, thanks for all your help ( especially @nd-photo.nl and @SICAMG ). Everything is back on and seems to be working well so far,( at the very least I was able to start the engine)

I did the following on the car since I got it a couple of weeks ago.

1. Transmission fluid flush
2. Engine oil
3. Differential oil
4. Supercharger pulley bearing replacement
5. cabin air filter.

I cant wait to get it off the jack stands and see whether I need to additional transmission fluid. Once that is good I need to give it a bath and go for a nice ride.

Next ill start looking into fixing the dents and fixing the scratched up paint.

Anything else I should take care of on a 160K 2006 e55

Even further, change out the waterpump if it hasnt been changed. Same with all pulleys, especially the double idler pulley.

Also check out my build thread, hopefully it might inspire you > https://mbworld.org/forums/c219/8443...ld-thread.html
