Anyone add aftermarket seats to their car ?
Need to bypass the seat air bags so would need to get some sort of air bag bypass resistor but not sure of the resistance and do not need any "faults" to arise.
Am going to keep the seat belt's active.

I have Recaro seats in mine. There's two options here. You can either put in an airbag resistor and passenger occupancy emulator or you can code everything out with STAR. If you code out the airbags and the occupancy sensor you need to unplug the connector and unpin it, otherwise the SRS ecu will detect something connected and will throw an SRS error. If you diconnect the connector and unpin the pins from the connector it will be fine. You need to unpin the wires, because there's a bridge in the connector which shorts the wires when unpluged.
Hmm. Let me take a look under the seats to see what's involved then make the decision. I will have to research STAR information to code it out.
In Iceland right now so I will have to wait a couple days before I look into it. Resistors are for sure the easy way but will see.
Thanks

You don't remember the coding for the seat SRS deactivation do you ?
Would rather do it that way then use the resistors. Looks like there are a lot of connectors for the SRS under the seats !!!
I think you have to unlock the srs module with xentry, then change the coding of the seat airbag and occupancy sensor to not available and then lock the srs module again. Before that you need to disconnect the seat occupancy sensor and airbag connector under the seat and pin the vehicle side male pins out of the connector, because otherwise the car will throw an unplausible airbag configuration error. There's a shorting bridge in the srs connector under the seat, which closes the circuit when a connector is unplugged and srs module detects it. When pinned out, it stays open circuit and the srs module doesn't detect anything and doesn't throw an error
Interesting. I never new or saw a pin bridge in any connectors that I worked on,with other cars, so I will look into this. I am very well mechanicaly inclined but worry about this stuff when it comes to air bags.
Don't need anything popping off from a short LOL !!! Will get into the SRS module and take a look as well. On vacation now so will be a couple days.
Also before I forget what did you do for your seat belts ? Mine are attached to the seats so are they still active? I will have to attach them to the body.
I even thought about possibly taking the seat occupancy out and installing it in the new seat.
@UncleBenz55 great information here and great looking seats you have there
@SICAMG We are a RECARO retailer, and like UncleBenz said, RECARO has mounts for your seatbelts to attach and hang in the same OEM configuration. You can reach out at tgibson@highline-autos.com or (855) 924-1333 if you have any other questions other or are ready to order.
Coding is not going to work for me. There is way too much Farfennugen language that I can not understand and will be translating for days ! LOL Plus I am used to number coding, like the engine coding, and I am not seeing that.
