hit a pothole now ride height is all messed up

Yesterday I took the e55 out of storage to get the juices flowing since the roads were dry and salt-free fo the first time in 3 weeks and ran into an issue. I hit a pretty good pothole and about 5 seconds later got the dreaded Stop, car too low message. I pulled over and the car is doing the carolina squat. jacked up in the front and low in the rear. I limped it back to the storage facility and scanned it and got 2 suspension errors: 5507 suspension strut is implausible and 5500critical vehicle level at front. it seems some sensor is out of whack since when i check the vehicle levels through my scanner it says: left front 24mm, right front -83mm and rear vehicle -21mm. Today i checked both of the front level sensors and nothing seemed out of whack. Could the jolt of the pot hole have killed a sensor? im in a bit of a pinch with it being in storage and having no garage and limited tools at home so if it's much more than a sensor replacement i'll probably have to bite the bullet and take it to a shop. any ideas are appreciated!

Using STAR/Xentry, put the car in calibration mode using manual inputs (IIRC, it is: Control Units/Chassis/Airmatic/Actuations/Initial Startup using manual inputs). In that mode, you can monitor the sensor values as you raise/lower the car. Each air spring/strut can be controlled by adding/releasing air pressure.
This will at least let you know if the sensors are working properly.

I believe in the 3rd photo, the linkage should point towards the front (outside of the car) and not the back (inside of the car/engine bay).

@nd-photo.nl wow i think you're right! i thought it was weird how right side pointed in and left out but figured that's just how it was. it was the right side that i hit the pothole with so im guessing the suspension extended enough to allow it to bend the opposite way? pretty strange as it seems that the joint where the sensor arm meets the rod would've hit the bracket if it had done so and i didn't notice anything out place when i checked. perhaps there's just enough room to squeak by

i'll take another look this week

Else just remove the nut and disconnect the rod temporarily and swing them the right way

Never seen or heard of this happening before. Last summer I hit a deep pothole badly and completely blew the front right strut in my CLS55. Didn’t get the stop car too low message until later that night tho

@nd-photo.nl fixed and sitting back at normal ride height. Thanks for the good eye! very odd that it managed to bend back in the opposite direction but a pretty easy fix

Glad to hear that it was an easy fix! When you hid something hard, it never hurt to double check the alignment, but you can also do that at a later stage when everything feels normal again.
