CLS55 AMG
Liar, liar, pants on fire...

I wrote the following yesterday. My original challenge, which you accepted, was for any and all supercharged AMGs. Lie all you want, but here's the challenge you accepted:

Further, as I have pointed out to him four times now (i.e. he knows this, yet continues to lie about it): The challenge I originally made to apk1013, and the one which he accepted, clearly stated CL55, OR SL55, OR E55:

Do tell, because I've already posted an invite on the MB forum. Let's see you back it up, because I don't believe it.

Oh, and just for good measure, would you also care to extend the invitation to the Turbo Porsche forums as well? This should be good for a laugh.
AND, as I've pointed out to him on at least four occasions now, the E55, SL55, and CL55 are about the same weight, have the same motor, same gearing, same driveline. Finally, in this thread, I pointed out to him that Motor Trend tested the CL55 AMG and the E55 AMG, and got 0.01 seconds apart in the 1/4 mile.

If you can beat one, you can beat the other.

Mmhmm, I'm sure that a modded CL55 by Renntech nonetheless ran slower times than stock. Either the driver was a 15 year old girl like yourself or this is another one of your - "less valid" - claims

Look at the big wimp now...he doesn't even have the ***** to show up against the E55

Tuesday and yesterday, he was raring to go, against any and all AMGs--until one agreed to show up, when he slinked away with his tail between his legs with his BS "busy" story. He then agreed to meet them next week.

Now, he's backing away from even that, saying that he'll only race a CL55. What a joke!!!

APK1013, The implication of your last post was that I didn't show at the track ("...but no E55's") and that was in some way funny. With your inability to go last night, I thought the last thing you should do is openly imply that I was bull sh_tting about going. Rest assured I wasn't. As I stated before, I was going to Moroso to run you. When you stated you couldn't, there was no need for me to go; however, the invitation is always open. You e-mail me, and I will meet you at Moroso. Tomorrow night is test and tune. Let me know.

Just because the mags have tested the cl55 faster doesn't meant that the renntech cl55 was slower than a cl55, the conditions may have been bad, who knows.......... its all relative anyway.

I was implying that it is pretty ironic that there was a CL55 there at the track since we can't find one to race me. I knew you weren't going if I didn't go. I did not mean it that way. I think the Turbo ran 12.5 or 12.6.

Why would you call me a 15 year old little girl? How immature are you? There are some really cool guys on this forum, but a couple of you really need to grow up. I am 19 years old, and I am trying my best not to stoop to your immature level.

I'm referring to the driver of the "Renntech CL55" you saw that ran 13's genius.

2006 E46 M3, 2008 E92 M3

I am a HUGE fan of German cars, particulary BMWs at the moment as I enjoy spirited driving, whilst still having the need to carry luggage and passengers. Although when I do eventually buy an automatic, I think it will be something along the lines of an S600. I just can't live without manual. The SMG in the new M5 pisses me off, but that's a whole different discussion. I'm willing to try it

Now to the point of my post - I used to own an E39 M5 which I have now traded in a 645Ci untill the new E60 M5 arrives here in South Africa. Speaking from this point of view, and being quite a good shifter in my opnion, there is NO WAY IN HELL that he can hope to beat any of the AMG's, save for the C55 and C32, which will walk him if he does bad shifting.

I'd very much like to see a video of this race And my money isn't on the M5......

Back in 2000 when it was launched it was king of the hill. The competition has wised up since then, and while the E39 M5 can still compete on the track, given a proper driver, it is no match for a car of equal weight with a bigger supercharged engine.

Just to say, I am in no way biased to a single manufacturer, my garage will hopefully one day consist of a BMW M6, a MB S600 and a VW Touareg V10 turbo-diesel

Btw, apk1013, you could have put a stop to it either Wednesday or tonight by simply stepping up to the plate and meeting him at the strip!!

My brother's neighbor has an E55, and I can run him at anytime. The point is that I said I beat a CL55, so that is what I want to race. If you claim to have beaten a Corvette, am I going to bring a Camarro. They are two completely different cars. One has 2 doors and the other has 4. They are very different cars, and all I want is to race the car that I beat about about 4 months ago. Is this too much to ask from you?

APK1013, please stop lying.

That's not what you promised SGC here, now is it? You promised to meet up with him at Moroso racetrack, now didn't you? So why not dispense with the lawyer-esque twisting and evasion and make good on your promise?

Here's your post where you promised to race the E55 AMG:

APK1013, here is some more info for you to chew on:

You think that the number of doors, or extra weight slows the supercharged/turbocharged Benzes down??

I already pointed out the following two, of the E55 with four doors, the CL55 with two:

Motor Trend's test of CL55: 0-60: 4.27 sec.; 1/4 mile: 12.38 @ 114.45:

Motor Trend's test of E55: 0-60: 4.2 sec.; 1/4 mile: 12.39@ 116.21:

Hmm...looks like your theory is in trouble there....but was this a fluke?? Let's see: here is Road & Track's 0-100-0 test from last year, which featured among other cars the four-door E55, and the two-door retractable hard top convertible SL55, which weighs 200 pounds more than the E55 (and the same as a CL55).

Here is the results page. The graphs are screwed up, so unless you've got a huge monitor it's difficult to see, but if you look at the "all time" list, they are tied for sixth place, with the following results:

0-100-0 time:
E55 AMG: 15.0 seconds
SL55 AMG: 15.1 seconds

Wow, such a difference!!

Does this hold true for other two-door and four-door cars in the supercharged/turbocharged Mercedes lineup? Well, let's have a look:

Car & Driver tests the S600: 0-60 in 4.3 sec., 1/4 in 12.5 @ 115 mph:

Car & Driver tests the CL600: 0-60 in 4.5 sec., 1/4 in 12.6 @ 115 mph:

Uh-huh. You're making excuses, and everyone knows it. Come back when you're ready to go to the track, son.

On Wednesday and Fridays the track is very busy. They are not gonna let us line up against each other. We will have to go by times. I will go with SGC, but I really wanted to run a CL55 since this is what I claimed to have beaten. Its not that unreasonable of a request. I will basically go just to post a time slip that will prove to you that I can hang with a CL if I get a good launch, so we can put this nonsense to rest.

Well, I hope you're on the level this time, APK1013.

You've already backed out twice , so you'll forgive us if we are less than optimistic about showing up at all.

Do you have any concrete date in mind, or is this just another empty promise?
