Mine is beat and deteriorated- freshening up the interior bits a bit. Do dealers carry these? Are they the only option ?

There are a bunch listed in the parts catalog. Post your vin and I'll see what comes up for your car.

The part number is 211 267 35 10 with color code 9C05. Good news it is not listed as discontinued, but it does show as on back order. You may want to talk with your favorite parts manager to see if you can get any more details on that.

Thank you very much! I’m going to call my guy tomorrow. I hope I’m not too late in the game.

I wonder how scarce parts may get for our cars eventually, this platform… my MKIV Supra has majority of the parts discontinued so you’re never finding a replacement part or paying boatload prices for refurbished or as is used parts .

Thanks again for this..

If it's just the leather worn out, get it redone at a leather or upholstery shop.

It's the push start silver button as well - chipped and faded.

UPDATE: I called three dealerships in my state - all said the same. "Part no longer in inventory at any Mercedes dealer in the US. Checked for Germany. Nothing available there. Only option is to pay fully upfront ($600+ Germany fees) to have Germany ATTEMPT to source from a local supplier. If not, they refund your money and basically, you're s* outta luck. It's three options; deal with it, try and see if a German can locate it in Germany, or third option, source from a junkyard/salvaged car but could take a long time for a specific color code etc.

The reps all said the same - this applies to all color codes as well. He said usually for more specialty vehicles like AMGs, the parts stop production after 10-12 years. Some E55s are over 20 years old now.

I'll just live with it...

I would keep your eyes peeled on eBay, as well as at wrecking yards with similar vehicles. If you are patient, you will find one in good condition.

Good point - see if anything pops up in good condition.
