Upgrade HK Speakers
I am looking to replace the HK speakers in my E55 as they are on the way out. Would like to upgrade them with new speakers instead of buying used ones on eBay that will inevitability fail. I am not an audiophile, and wiring isn't really my thing. I would like a solution that is plug n play, if possible.
From my understanding there is a total of 12 speakers. According to another post I found, "4x 1" Tweeters, 4x 6.5" Midrange woofers, 3x 3.5" Surround speakers and 1x 10" Subwoofer". I don't plan on changing the factory sub. Would like recommendations for the rest though.
Sorry if this post is similar to others, all the posts I saw on direct swaps were over a decade old so I wanted to see if anyone had any newer recommendations. Most people upgraded the amp from what I saw (which I would prefer not to do unless I can find a direct upgrade).
Budget: Would like to spend in the ~$500-700 range. I am willing to spend up to 1k, but would rather not. No idea if that is realistic or not.
Any help/advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I don’t think there are any plug and play but the factory ones. They have the mount built in as well as the connector. I replaced mine years ago with infinity 2 ohm 6.5 component and they have worked better than the original.
I wouldn’t go spending lots of money, as the amplifier and other components aren’t really very good. I believe there are quite a few 6.5 2ohm components out there, but all need fabrication to install into the factory mount, and the mounting depth of I recall is critical as well. The tweeters are probably fine, and mounting aftermarket ones is more difficult than the 6.5”. The center speaker may be the one that is giving you problems as I think that one goes first.

Yeah, my center speaker (the one under the cover in the dash) has gone bad twice now. I swapped the one out of my wagon before I sold it, and it also went out. I don't have an issue with how the sound system is stock, but it does sound it's age from years of usage.
How hard is fabrication for speakers? I would presume making sure it's in the intended spot from factory is important.
I'm not really sure what I should do for my circumstance, I am decent with DIY but not amazing.

Are the speakers electronically failing or is it the foam rings? There are speaker rebuild kits out there that are fantastic if the issue is the foam.

I think it's mainly the surround speakers tbh. I'll try to find new replacements and hopefully that can fix my issue. I'm not sure which part number would be for the HK system, I have found more than one PN.
