Where to go in Melbourne to Modify my E55 AMG
Hi all I am hoping someone can help me out. I am on hunt for a reputable workshop that knows the E55 amg and can help me modify it. I am looking at purchasing a stage 4 VRP packaged and have it all installed and tuned.

I reached out to AJA performance not sure how reliable the info was. I spoke to a guy named Joe. He thinks the VRP packages are pointless. He suggested to fit down pipes (losing the factory cats) with a custom tune. He said it would cost less that $5k for everything and should net me around 320 rear wheel killowatts.
He said anymore power and I will break my diff, trans and tailshaft. I did ask him if he increases the boost pressure while doing the tune and he said it was pointless.
Just wondering if anyone can comment on this further. I am very sceptical based on what I have read online

Sounds like he knows exactly what he’s talking about. It’s 20 year old car. Unless you want to get deep into component swapping and big bills, his approach sounds perfectly reasonable imo.

Based on what you know about these cars does that add up tho? 320rwk wby just simply decatting and tuning it? sounds a bit high. I am hoping to crack 400rwk with supporting mods. Dont want it to be unsafe or anything but would have thought 400rwk was fairly achievable

Yes it adds up, it would be 430 horsepower at the wheels. You’re looking for 540 horsepower at the wheels. It’s achievable with the right modifications, but I would be worried about the transmission, although they do say it’s a very durable trans. What the shop is suggesting would give you an additional 70 horsepower at the wheels, and the work they will be doing is part of achieving what you’re going for anyways. I’d suggest maybe trying what the shop is suggesting, and if you’re not happy and want more power they can start messing with the supercharger pulleys, fuel system, so on and so on.

Yes I do agree with what you are saying, but sure things like air intakes, split cooling and smaller pulley would help. I just dont want to hassle of spending all this money only having to go back and buy all the other parts and pay another $1500 for the custom tune. I would be keen to understand what mods others have done and the power they are making so I can follow a similar path)
