Don't run wheel spacers, I'm lucky I didn't see one of my front wheels just roll right beside my driver widow.

And don't put W211 wheels on a W210...14mm bolts versus 12mm bolts. A member of this sub-forum discovered this the hard way.

Well, that answers my question about using different wheels with spacers!

Maybe someone can correct me on this but hub-centric spacers should be fine. The wheel sits on the hub not the wheel lugs, so you need a spacer that also sits on the hub, and also has it's own lip for the wheel to sit on to make sure it's like-for-like.

What's the issue with using a spacer? Years ago with my first MB, a W126 SEL500, I made 5mm spacers and upgraded from the stock 14" wheels to 16" from a SL. Spacer was sandwiched between the wheel and the hub/rotor with lug bolts torqued as always. Completely chaged the handling of the car in a positive way and never had any issues.

Well I just went through 3 or 4 different hub centric spacers and they all caused different variations of vibration, the last one felt like i was driving a Jeep with the death wobble I work in the tire/wheel/automotive industry and a lot of these spacers now are junk even if they're hub centric. Once I took them off, vibration/shakiness went away.

I always used hub centric billet spacers and never an issue. The cheaper cast versions are a no no for sure

I don’t even know why I had them on, the offset on my wheels is perfect and there was no need for them.

only thing is I still have a vibration sometimes at 90+ and I’m not sure if maybe my drive shaft needs to be rebalanced or what

sometimes it happens sometimes it doesn’t but most of the time it does

Check the center bearing on the shaft. You can get in there and give it a shove to see how much it moves and inspect the bearing bushing.

Folks who are preoccupied with "looks" are too often unaware that spacers require longer bolts and compatible seat geometry in addition to the correct bolt diameter. IMO, too much $$ and risk just to hurl stones out of your tires at the windshields of others.

H&R hubcentric spacers with correct bolts. There aren’t many w211 spacer options because of the way the front hub is designed. The rear is no problem.

H&R like CDK stated....always worked well for me a couple times and others I know but the correct bolt IS VERY IMPORTANT like streborx said as well.

I had the correct length lug bolts on and still had the vibration, I used to own a wheel and tire shop for years so I’m pretty sure about correct lugs I just took them off and decided to stay away from spacers

I recall reading another thread where someone experienced wobble and it was due to an incompatible lug bolt conical seat with wheels designed for ball seats. I thought about using a set of wheels and tires with my G550 that would have required bolt pattern adapters that needed to be 3/4" thick, but decided against it because of the change in offset.
