Lets all hope and prey that the V12 Biturbo is in fact what will power the next AMG version. I have heard and read so many different suggestions as to what will power the E63/E65. The V12TT is a sick powerplant and it would make the E55 stupidly fast! Amen.

Well, having driven an SL65 today I hope to God they put an LSD in this thing, 'cause it really needs it. But, man oh man is it fast!

Wow that would be so sick, but it would be damn expensive too, I'd rather would like to see V8 Twin turbo with 600hp!! But v12 is not bad at all, And i dont care about understeer, what i'll loose in turns i'll gain in a straightaway! :v

EDIT: but the question is: will they give a free petrol station with each car?
Because damn those v12s a hungry Mo***R F****s

Perhaps a AMG LSD on your car first????

Yes, there will be a E6x AMG (with 65 front bumper), as a 2007 model.

I agree that MB/AMG needs to get their *** in gear and start offering an LSD. We are just scratching the surface of our AMG cars' potential. I will never understand why they wouldnt at least offer one as an option. Its just senseless, especially when so much R&D is put into making these cars so fast and technologically advanced. What are they thinking across the pond???

Don't worry, we'll be talking soon. Mentioned this to my service advisor today and asked if they would install (as another member here is doing) and he said no way. Said even though it's AMG it still voids my warranty. Should make tomorrow interestign as the regional tech will be checking out my car for the stalling issue. told the shop foreman about my Renntech upgrade and he looked kinda nervous. Said the techs are very conservative. told him I can document that most of the stalls happened before I did the mod, so we'll see.

MB is 'so' not putting a V12 in the E-Class. European Car is printing a bunch of BS again.

I agree with you about the availability of a LSD but after reading about the technology behind the system in the E55 I understand why MB did it. Conventional LSD use clutch packs to allow the wheel to slip if necessary delivering torque to the other side. The ESP does the same thing by applying the brake to the spinning wheel delivering torque to the other side. ONe is mechanical the other electronic. Unfortunately it reduces more power to do the latter. I don't think that this would matter unless you are autocrossing or drag racing both of which most MB owners are not going to do.

I happened to read an article comparing the SL600 with the SL65 and the performance number were virtually a tie despite th SL65 100HP advantage. The big equalizer was getting the HP to the pavement. When you get into that range of HP you need much bigger tires and lighter vehicle weights to significantly reduce quarter times as well as laps times. It seem that physics is limiting our fun.

No matter how much HP that is put into our cars somebody always wants more. I know this is sacralege here but 420HP to the rear wheels is really plenty for a street car. HP wars are all about egos and who has the biggest and the best. When BMW makes one that matches 619 HP MB will trump it. Don't y0u just love it.

I am a firm believer of "asking for the order". Is there anyway we could email or fax/write Benz and plead for as much horse as they can put under the hood of the new 55/65. Maybe being naive, but couldn't hurt. We sure the hell are the official "target audience". Why not ask for what we want.

Any other email addresses besides the lame "benz website black hole" email addresses.

I get the creeps anytime I see "click to send general comments"....yup, right into delete they go I bet.

Please be gentle with replys, it was just an idea.

All the best

MB owners don't race? They may not race as much as f1 or mustang owners but we definitely race.

As for ESP being the same as an LSD, that's crazy. Now that I have an LSD, the difference is day and night. After the Kleemann HP increases, the brake application from ESP during launches absolutely KILLED my 60' times. The LSD rocks.

I didn't say that ESP and LSD were the same. They accomplish the same end. The ESP just costs more HP to do. LSD is superior, I agree. If you search this forum I asked 6 mos ago why the heck did MB not put a LSD as stock.
https://mbworld.org/forums/w211-amg/79385-limited-slip-differential.html

I also said MOST MB owners don't race, obviously a lot of the guys that frequent this forum do. What MB markets to is the other 95% that don't

I dont care what anyone says ... the V12 will never be in a production W211. If people want to think its true fine -- but its not. The next W211 will be a E65 V8.... NOT A V12.... plain and simple.

Going to Europe and talking to a janitor is not a good source to figure out what items are in the pipeline at AMG.

I honestly dont think the V12 will happen either but its ok to dream.

Vetluver, I would agree that most regular MB owners dont race but I think that most AMG vehicle owners do, so it does matter.

A V12 has been done, a lot. And turbos can be tucked anywhere, it is all about elaborate plumbing.

So a Mercedes-Benz sedan will compete against the Ferrari 430, Lambo Gallardo, etc etc. or will it still compete against vehicles such as the M5, CTS-V, etc etc...Just curious because doesn't it seem a bit unusual that a sedan is going up against exotic vehicles.

I don't like how Mercedes is just trying to push hp numbers. I mean what is the point of tryin to make the numbers higher if you can't get those numbers to the ground. It's been brought numerous times before, We can have a 700 hp sedan but what good is it if we can't get it down to the ground where it needs to be. Just my 2 cents
