Just purchased a new 2005 E55

Hello all,

I want to introduce myself to the is list. I just purchased a brand new 2005 E55 from my local Mercedes Benz dealer here in NJ. My actual car is on a ship heading to the US and is scheduled to dock around Dec31. in Baltimore. I should have my car first or second week in January.

Best Wishes to all,
BMH

Congrats, MBH - or is it BMH??!

As you can from my sig, my latest '05 is also on a winter cruise - dealer says I should have it before the end of the month. BTW, nice choice of colors.

I assume that the ship comes straight from Germany? Do they make the US models over there, or do the cars need to be adjusted to US-standards when they arrive at the states?

The only US model made in the states is the ML series. All others are built in Germany at the Sindelfingen plant (AMG motors are assembled at AMG's Affalterbach factory and then shipped to Sindelfingen for installation). All US-bound Mercedes are built in full compliance with US safety and emissions standards and require no adjustments upon arrival. To the best of my knowledge, the ship comes straight from Germany. I'm curious if the same or separate ships dock at Baltimore and Jacksonville.

The ship comes strait from Germany and lands in Baltimore on around Dec 31 . I should have my car end of the first week of January.

I'll have to keep my eyes open for you ... I live less than 5 miles away.

There are very few E55's in the immediate vicinity ... one very nice brilliant silver CL 55 that I've been seeing around Princeton but no other E55s other than mine (2002).

Mine looks like this: https://mbworld.org/forums/showpost....1&postcount=29

I'll bet you can't wait!

Your right about that, I can't wait to get my new baby. Yeh I haven't seen any E55's in my area. I have seen a purple Diablo running around town, but not much else thats exciting. BTW very nice car you have.

Best Wishes,
MBH

Congrats on the car! My dream car (at least within reason) is still an E55!

Yeah, it was my dream car too, then it became a reality. When I drive it, it feels like I'm dreaming though. What a car, what a car...

Welcome to MBWorld, start w/ Euro Impact Strips, K&N Filters, S500 Intake Tube that replaces the drivers side air intake tube (restricted version), and open up the air intakes behind the grill!
