One of the mods i wanted to do is change the e55 stock steering wheel to an e63. The forum helped me a lot as i checked older threads for fitment and how to. Posting this here maybe i can help someone searching out how they can do the swap and if it really is plug and play. So my car is a 2005 so from mid 2005 and after ( if you have your car is mid 2005 and its has 805 or 806 in the build sheet) its really plug and play, you dont change a clockspring you just buy an e63 w211 steering wheel if it doesnt come with an airbag you have to buy one apart and then its just a matter of safely removing and replacing the steering wheel. It took me and my brother about 20 minutes. Very happy with the outcome everything works menu buttons, paddles etc. I will try to send my steering wheel somewhere to get customized as i have a look in my head that i want to do, plus the perforated leather shows its wear. Let me know how you guys like it. P.s Sorry for the mess in the back of the picture currently made space so the car fits in the garage and moving homes soon, so everything is allover the place.

Well the dont really look the same i posted pictures with stock and e63 steering wheel. If you have a 2005+ model e55 everything is plug and play, all functions work.

if you have a 04 e55 you have to look at the build date.
if before 06/04 you have ill need to swap your steering column and wiring harness
if built after 06/04 then you’re good and don’t need to swap anything
