Engine oil cooler mounting help

Does someone have a picture or diagram of how the oil cooler is attached to the car? The one under the intercooler. When I got the car it was just shoved into the bumper and I don’t see any brackets to where it would go.

@GokiePokie
Take a look at page 4 in the attachment and there is a photo of that part's mount and enough description to explain it.

I have a couple more pictures. I’m still at a loss to how to mount this oil cooler. There is no room under the vpr heat exchanger unless this thing is supposed to hang 2” out the bottom. If someone has the VRP instructions or just pictures of your oil cooler fitment that’d be much appreciated. Worst case I may just yank out the passive oil cooler and run a rubber hose directly to the active oil cooler.

I have the CLS version of your car. I added the PLM H/E below the bumper crash bar. it has mounting location for the oil cooler as part of it. Maybe you coan added mounting blocks similar on your H/E. I have added pictures I took when I did the install.

Oil Cooler was at the correct location for it to vent through the front belly pan.

Mounted under the bumper crash bar.

Thanks for the pictures. My vrp heat exchanger doesn’t have those provisions for brackets. Also in my E55 there is virtually no room to mount it under there. Are you guys running the splash tray too?

Contact VRP and ask them if they intended to remove the under-radiator oil cooler. If yes, just run the line straight as you mentioned. If not, ask them if the oil cooler is supposed to fit in original position or re-mounted or removed.

Your issue is one of the reasons I try to keep my vehicle as stock as possible. Aftermarket stuff trying to fit it in the original space? Been there, got the T-shirt...

I eliminated that cooler and just welded fittings to the line and installed a stailess line in place of the cooler. Never an oil temp issue as these engines do not run hot at all. Plus the bigger cooler does the job just fine.

I measured the od of the steel tube and its 0.59in. I think I can cut and flare to a 5/8 and use standard copper fittings and tubing. I have a welder but I’m **** at it 😂
