a few...
19" 65 Wheels

Just wanting to know what you all think about this:

I have to take my car in for service in a few days, for them to replace a bushing for the alignment problem, and I was contemplating whether or not to debadge it, 55, amg, and v8 badges. I want to do so because I think it would give it an interesting flair because there are a few other E55s around my town. I also ordered the 65 wheels, with 275s on the rears so not to stick out too far. I should be getting the wheels soon and I was just wondering if anyone else had these on their cars. I thought my car would look good being debadged with the gunmetal 65 wheels on it too but its just a thought.

Please post some pics when it happens. I think it'll look hot too. I think someone photoshopped a set of the 65 rims on the E55 but I would like to see a real life pic. Thanks in advance...

Sometimes less is more. I think it'll look cool debadged.

2003 E55 AMG
I think it's going to look great. I'm considering debadging mine as well. This isn't the best picture, but I photoshoped it to see what it would look like from the back.

I look forward to seeing the pictures with the new rims.

Thats what I'm planning on doing! Although knowing my lazy self I'll never get around to it. Is your car silver? If so, you should consider taking the badges and painting them the color of the centers of the wheels. Thats what I'm planning on doing. Hopefully I'll have the wheels within a couple months or so. Good luck, congrats and send us pics when its done!

Have had the OEM 19" AMG rims since June and I love them. Same as the 65's but not gun metal. TireRack sells them for about $1200 a rim. I have 275's in the rear with the lower profile, you will love the look.

Went back to my stock rims for the winter and put winter tires on them.

SL 65 AMG and E63s AMG
The AMG 65 wheel is a painted wheel isn't it. Do you know if you can get a polished clearcoated version? Also, is that a two piece wheel?

Awesome looking wheel. My dealer says they will get anything I want. Just to let them know.

Here is a photoshop I did on mine to see how debadging the rear looked. Kinda like it.

Hey Eagleeye, you think you can maybe photoshop some of the 65 series wheels on a silver E55 for us to see what itd look like? Maybe you could use 04E55 AMG's pic to do it.

Mercedes Benz
My E55 is debadged and it looks great. I like people not knowing what the car is and blending in sometimes helps too!

As a bonus, the car is easier to wash and wax when there are no letters on the paint. Less work is always a good thing!

Go for it!

WOW,

You car looks just awesome with the 19's. They are the real MB AMG factory wheels??? If so do you have part #'s? How much did they run you if you don't mind me asking?

Best Wishes,
MBH

Just saw some recently posted pics and a video of a silver CL65 on the CL55 forum. Check that out; should give you a good idea about the 65 wheels with brilliant silver....looks awesome!

Thanks

They are OEM AMG rims like the 65's but not gunmetal. I bought mine directly from TireRack about 6 months ago with tires and had them shipped straight to my dealer. You can still order them from TireRack website under wheels. Last time I checked, they are about $1,200 a rim.

You may also want to check with Harris and see what his prices are. The weak $ to euro has made all things from Germany more expensive. To give you a idea, I bought those same rims 6 months ago @ $900 a rim.
