Great to hear - have 'em on order (along with Euro impact strips) from Steve myself. Did you do the programming or have it done at the dealer? I understood Wanda to say that it could be done either way.

Until then, the mirrors will fold under manual power control, but not automatically with the door locks.

no have not done the programming yet. Steve said he would e-mail the instructions to me, because I know that when I go to my dealer here in Boston, they will have no clue, as I've learned from other mods to my previous benz. So I need to make sure I know what I am talking about in order to convince them that W211 could actually have auto folding mirrors.

Nothing MB related (sorry)
Leon: good to know you managed to install the mirrors. Great!
Beowolf: package is on its way...
Griffin: power folding mirrors are also possible for a 2003 W211.

Yea I definitely am happy I put in the folding mirrors. I gave the menus that steve emailed me to the tech and he was able to find it just fine. No screenshots were needed by my guy. They only charged me 15 minutes of labor. The dealer I was originally gonna do it at wanted an hour and only ONE GUY in the entire dealership supposedly could do it. Good thing they pissed me off and I went elsewhere.

Hi Beowulf,
I don't think Steve will be able to reply any emails today... He left for Germany (Stuttgart) to pick up stuff he needs for his install trip early February.
I myself don't have the instructions - but I definitely think it's time I get those as well. I may have some of the info... will try to find it for you and mail it to you right away...
greetingz,
BigSis

In StarDiagnosis, go into the Left Door Control Module... Adaptations... find the setting for folding mirrors and set that to present.
Then go to the Instrument Cluster module... Adaptations... Optional Equipment... Folding Mirrors ... PRESENT
I think that should be it.
If you can't figure it out, e-mail me and you can call me.

The third menu has to do with the special functions of the steering wheel control. In german it would be, as BigSis stated in an email to me from steve 'Steuergerät übergreifende Funktione'. I gave that vague description to my tech and he found it with apparently no problem.

Information & Communication -> IC -> Adaptations -> Version Coding -> Configuration Possibilities -> Mirror Fold-In -> PRESENT
Body -> System Diagnosis -> Adaptations -> Read/Change -> Vehicle Equipment -> Exterior Rear View Mirrors -> FITTED
Seats/Doors -> DCM-FL -> Adaptations -> Mirror Folding -> ACTIVATED
As I recall (mine was the first one so it was a long time ago), it did not require the System Diagnosis setting, it may have already been set.

Auto-folding mirror followup . . .
Thanks to Wanda, Dean & Steve, the install and programming went perfectly!
BTW, really pleased with the euro impact strips, as well: much cleaner, better-integrated front end!
Big thumbs up to MBenzNL on all counts!
