What's the "retail" price of the headers from EVO? Something like $2k? I would hope we could get a decent discount with 5+ people. Come on guys, let's do it!

Do you know if it's a directly bolt on headers?

I'm pretty sure it is. That's why I want these, no welding. I'll contact someone from EVO and post the email here in this thread.

EDIT: I have emailed EVO asking about details/pricing on the headers...

I am also interested in knowing about the sound. The day I put headers on my Z06 was the day that the car started to give me a headache after 30 minutes of driving. Too damn loud.

Guys,

Ok.. I have some awesome news!!!

But first, just want to clarify that the EVO headers are $2,990 on the website.

EVO's headers are a great product and bolt right in without any cutting or welding, but for me, I really want the kleeman headers becuase I want to do away with the primary cats. Also my long term plans for the exhaust is to have a complete 3" stainless steel exhaust built so they are a better fit for my needs.

Now, saying all that, I wanted to let you know that after speaking with Kleeman they would be willing to sell us their stainless headers with downpipes for *** $2,900 *** if we get 10 people to commit!!!!!

To be fair to both vendors (because I think that they are both great companies) lets keep a list of those people who want EVO headers and those people who want KLEEMAN headers. In the end, we will see where we stand and re-evaluate if necessary.

So, I ask that anyone who is interested please post which headers you want.

Thanks and let's try to make this happen!!

I am not in at $2900, that's just stupid. Even with a "Viper Tax", headers are $1700 out the door. $2900 is just ludacris.

I hear you... Even on my 993TT I didnt pay that much for headers, but, I guess these companies have R&D costs and dont sell enough volume to be able to sell at a lower price.

I am not sure what EVO's Group buy price would be because I think BobCanada is going to check with them. I just know that Kleeman's regular price was $4,100 when I checked last year and they are willing to do $2,900.

That's a decent discount! I would consider a fair price on headers would be $1500-$2000 depending on the # of orders. I don't know what type of R&D gives them that type of price, but I imagine Hawaii & Umbrella drinks played a part.

I agree with MGPWR, I wouldn't want to pay more than 2K, I think 1500 is a fair price, so hopefully we can get the EVO Headers for that much.

I can get custom headers for $1,700 but there will have to be at least 8 people interested in the project with half the money up front and the other half upon completion. Someone has to leave a 211 at the shop. The headers would be mild steel with JetHot coating. The project could start around 6 weeks from the paid deposits and turn around would be around one month.

Where's your shop? I don't know who you are (maybe I'm missing something here?).

the evo pipe noise is in NO WAY annoying even with resonator deletes. i took the car out today and when i started it up a smile crossed my face. when you floor it there is no resonance in the cabin that would make your ears hurt, even with the deletes. in fact im driving the car like i stole it to get the most out of the upgrade and did a nice smokey burnout with the sunroof open to see how bad the sound would be and its just more baratone. not like the typical 5.0 mustang rumble that you hear on those cars. the evo2 upg is just plain wrong though (in a good way) the way the car bites and scrambles for traction in a very aggressive way. trying to get drag radials but cant find them in 19"s.
