Better than a 11.78 1/4 mile?

I think our man DerekFSU has the bragging rights timeslip/evidence to the quickest E55 1/4 mile time at 11.78 at 118.2 mph

Does anyone have FACTS (time slips or otherwise) that beat this?

PLEASE NO GUESSES, "I KNOW THIS GUY IN ALBUQUERQUE..." OR I READ ON FORUM XYZ THAT SOMEGUY IS RUNNING A NITROMETHANE 8 LITRE AWD E55 THAT RUNS 8 SEC AT 180.

Just the facts please (ideally links to time slips).

Much thanks.

11.78 time slip link below: http://www.pbase.com/derekfsu/image/39523533

It will be interesting to see just how quick these dudes will go.

No doubt it is super quick and fast. I don't recall ever reading about a quicker time. But is it purely a question of the absolute quickest documented time run by any E55, in any condition, on any tires? If that is the point of the question, then cool.

In my opinion, we need to be specific as to the condition of the car. For example, was the car stock, was it Evo 1 or 2, was it on drag radials, etc.? To most people, those things mean something. Not that it makes the time any slower objectively, and it doesn't take away from the accomplishment, but it would still be good to know what condition the car is in.

From my experience on Z06Vette.com, guys love to compare times with the same types of mods, e.g., heads and cam packages against other heads and cam packages, or headers and intake vs. other headers and intake. The E55 does not have even five percent of the pool of modded Vettes, but it would still be good to try to categorize cars by their level of modifications, imo.

I wish we had enough E55 (or AMG, in general) racers close enough to Englishtown to try to set up an AMG event there. Would be awesome!!!

Why not pick somewhere central to the east coast and we all go up there and race? We could rent the track for a day and have THE definitive E55 races. It would allow us to compare lots of E55's with the same mods and with different mods.

North Carolina looks about in the middle. They've got tracks out the wazoo. Not to mention the one that does top speed racing.

I ran 12.1 @ 117mph with a with Renntech ECU and pulley. I will hit the track again with my CLS55. Hopefully I will have the ECU, pulley, headers and LSD by the time 04E55AMG (Spero) and I go to the track again.

When I ran 12.1, temp was high 60s with like 90% humidity (rained as soon as we left...modded up the wazoo Camaros were running 11.9s. Spero and I shocked the hell out of them

We even caught one guy saying "did you see that? Isn't that a 4 door sedan?"

It was too funny seeing these Camaro guys (some were running in the 13's) seeing us running better times than them.

I don't have a scanner...but I took a pic of one of the runs. Best run I had was 12.11 @ 117mph with a 1.7 something 60'.

Can't find all the slips...

Went to Valdosta, GA tonight to run. Got down to about 40 degrees. Did two runs in the high 11's and then iced down & let it sit for about an hour. Final run yielded an 11.65 @ 120.7 mph with a 1.763 60ft time.

If you ever hear someone say that they ran an awesome time in Albuquerque, you'll know that they are lying. The track in Albuquerque is a mile above sea level, and cars will typically run a FULL SECOND slower in the 1/4 mile than they do at sea level.

Here is the time slip from my last run in October. The quality is not so great. I need to darken the slip. First time attaching anything, so I hope it works.

Enzo,

I think you have bragging rights for best 1/4 for a stocker.

Anyone else heard of a quicker stocker or modded E55?

Hey Derek

just read this thread and simultaneously got notification at dragtimes.com about your run in GA. What an awesome time - you rock dude. Your progress is a real inspiration - I have to stop this miserable business travel and get out to Moroso while the weather is cool

Regarding SGC's car - I beleive he is running K&N's and drag radials

Regards
Siswati

Thanks man, you are too kind. I just saw it on dragtimes.com. It has my slip and a frame from me racing my M3 at Gainesville a few months back. How the heck did they get this so quick? I don't think the track submits this stuff.
