All 4 wheels STOLEN

Off my AMG E55, ugh. The good news is I get new tires and rims and I was just wondering what some members here would choose for the wheel combo on the 03 AMG E55. I live in so cal so no need for winter or all season tires.. What would be the dream combo..18's 19's 240s in front 265s in back? Anyway the car is at the shop and I think I want to do something special. hehe This is my first post and I am glad I found you folks. Had no clue there was an E55 wagon OMG amazing....

Sorry to hear that juice. I'd go with chrome 18's and Michelin PS2's.

wow that sucks dude. the same thing happened to me like 4 years ago. the cops told me that i should be lucky that the jerkoffs were "nice and considerate" enough to leave my car on cinder blocks rather than on its rotors. what did they do with your car? did it happen at night? in your area or some place else? etc...

Happened at night on Valentines , right in front of my home. The car was left sitting on 4 jacks, the brakes on the AMG are so large that the tiresthe tow truck brought did not fit. The thief damaged the spoiler and the majority of the side mouldings as they jacked the car up on the plastic(which cracked). I woke up and saw some real shiny metal but actually did not react as you can see the rotors through the wheels anyway, when I went out to go to work uh I noticed there were no wheels, My car has 13k miles and had contisport2 with AMG 2 spoke rims(stock). I do actually want the Michelins but was thinking 19"s and the AMG mach lip rims, Anyway thanks for the response. Knowing how enthusiastic the posters are here actually made me appreciate the beast a bit more..I think I broke the gas pedal on the rental car, hehe

When you get your next set of rims, make sure you get locks.

sorry for your situation man. that really sucks.

and to think that i got mocked earlier in this forum for suggesting getting the locks. time to order them.... i'm sure the thieves could get past them somehow, but the pain in the a$$ factor might deter them and help them pick some other unlucky guy's car....

Heh locks.

With the right tools (hell, with a hammer if you wanted) locks can be broken in a matter of minutes.

Still, get them, just don't lull yourself into a false sense of security.

Man does that suck. At least your getting new rims, now you can put some HRE's on it! Good luck and definetly invest in some wheel locks this time.

The same thing happen to my CLk430 5 years ago, a week after I bought the car. I wasn't aware that my car didn't come with wheel locks, even my toyota came with wheel locks on those tiny 16" wheels. Man, I know how that feels....

Juice, sorry to hear that man. Didn't your alarm go off when the vehicle is lifted? I could be wrong but when I read my manual, TeleAid suppose to notify the Police if the alarm doesn't shut off at a certain minute.

Uh..I heard the alarm but it shut off after a short time, figured it was wind. I never activated teleaid, looks like I will do a number of things differently after this. The day prior a large tree fell on my driveway and home, I was thanking my lucky stars the car was not smashed and on the street. hahahaha next morning the wheels were gone. The police did recover all 4 jacks and will send them to the Lab. Unfortunately this is not CSI and I am more likely to win the lotto then the thieves being caught. The police estimate it took 3-5 minutes and said he has seen guys do it in 1-2 minutes depending on the expertise. Glad I didnt catch them as my Mossberg woulda damaged my car further

Seriously I think that’s the worst start to any day or actually waking up and not finding your car parked at all would be even worst. Good luck finding new wheels you came to the right place.

Strange that you didn't go out and look.. I would have ran out there. I don't think the Merc alarm will go off unless the car is lifted or the window / door opened when it is armed. With airmatic, wind is not moving the car.

Hey Mattar. I really like the color of your car, do you have any taken in the sunlight? It looks amazing.. By the way, do you mirrors fold in over there in the UK?

I have been in my home 15 years and have never had any probs, I guess I got too comfortable. What would you do if you did get up and see 4 guys and a van obtaining your wheels, the police do not even respond to this type of call so it is a difficult choice.. Like I said the Mossberg is a strong response but then you could go to jail for defending the vehicle. A few houses down a home invasion took place, homeowner shot thief in the back inside home and was charged with a crime and had to prove in court his life was threatened. I called LAPD once in 15 years, that is what convinced me to buy a GUN in the first place.

Thanx atssystems… The weather here is terrible we don't get that much of sun but if I do take any pictures I’ll post some for you. Oh ya the mirrors do fold in if programmed its very useful just lock the car and it does everything for you.
