Got this from head of GermanCarFans.com...this guy has some pretty good tips and sources on Benz's in the past.

Sure the hell hope he's wrong.

What would you guys think of a 550+ HP NA engine? I know we have been through this before, but I guess I need a refresher.

No supercharger or turbos but naturally aspirated V8 or V12 with larger displacement possibly up to 6.7 liters. That's what I'm hearing.

By the way 6.7 liters would be a 409...I can hear the Beach Boys now...Four Oh Ninnnnee....Four Oh Nine....

I red in some article, acctually the one about Mclaren and mercedes going separate ways, and in the article they mentioned that they wanted to make another 2 cars with Mclaren, and it would be powered by NA 6.3L mercedes benz engine, one is 503 hp, and another one also 6.3 but 600+ hp... i dont know about the second number, but 503 bhp sounds very realistic!

So without blower, I guess we can say goodbye to the "torque monster" badge eh? Just no way you can get that much torque without forced induction correct?

Incorrect. American muscle guys have an Old saying....There is no replacement for displacement. Trust me if they make a 6.3 liter V8 it will have torque out the wazoo. You wont know what to do with yourself thats how much torque it should have.

Been playing sleuth today and emailing different sites....Guys at Autospies.com told me they are hearing new E is going to be E63...and not 65.

Interesting......Perhaps because we are talking 6.3 McClaren motor

They are checking motor info, but they said it's pretty hard to get hard info.

Superchargers are expensive. Turbos are becoming cheaper and cheaper (thanks japanesse tuner market). My guess is that more turbos will be in AMG's future.

The 65 has proven itself as an insane engine. I can't understand how they price it at 180K---it sure as heck can't cost THAT much more for JUST THE ENGINE. I suspect it's the ole' "what the market will bare" thing.

in anycase, I'm thinking turbo motors. IMO

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Saying good by to factory forced induction means you have better be damn happy with the horsepower and torque rating you buy the car with, cause if you want more than 10 more ponies every day you are going to be forking over major, major cash.

In essence, say good bye to +50hp for $3000, and +100hp for less than $50k. I would not be interested in a non forced induction version of the e-class AMG car. With this 55, I get 500hp... with a few dollars I can bump it up to 550, few more 600... give it another year, maybe 650 or 700... who knows. It's easy to stick with the times and easy to determine the amount of HP you are happy with. Freedom of choice!

Depends on the compression ratio. That is only true when you are messing around with something like a Honda where the C/P ratio is at 11.1 and higher. If the ratio is like a 10:1 it shouldnt cost to much to get some ponies out of there.
