Price of used 2010 e63 next year
I can't wait for my lease to be up on my Jag XF-SC. I am salivating over the 2010 e63. How much do you guys think I can buy one for in a year with 10-20k miles on it?

Again, I just cant imagine MB putting a brand new engine in ONLY 1 model year after. That just blows my mind! The only factor to makes me a believer is the green issue. The 20 ish MPG would be amazing. Also, there is a brand new s63 sitting at my dealership. If someone bought that car only to have a new killer engine months later....Dont get me wrong I love the 63 but sometimes I just cant believe it! I suppose the S needs an engine like that. A strong biturbo engine. The E not so much because you can actually enjoy the sound of the engine the way it was meant now, just like the C63.
Just gonna have to wait and see! And, honestly, Ive been lusting after the new E myself for a damn long time now. Considering my w211 is in the garage now for a blown cylinder repair, Im feeling...horny?
Get an E63 buddy!

Well, for a reference, I've shopped around and can get a brand new e63 for 8k off msrp. I even got offered 12k off for a brand new one, but it didn't have what I wanted. So maybe by next year, a used one will be more than 20k.
I'm still shopping around. Hopefully i can get one by the end of the month. I'm shooting for 10k off.

i'm hoping for 60-70k. You can get an old bodystyle 08 for 52k right now with 18k miles. I know it will hold it value more since the new bodystyle will be here to stay for 4 years or so. I hope those new turbo engines come out. That would help lower the price of the 10's!

AMGs depreciate rapidly so I wouldn't be considering value as a buying point. They just don't have a lot of value on the used market, unfortunately.

I hope they make the switch as the new TT will be needed to keep MB competitive against the M5.
As to the E63 only having 1 model year of the 6.3L engine, remember that the CLS came with the 5.5L supercharged engine for only 1 year and they switched to the 6.3L the following year...I could see it happening.

Last summer/fall you could buy a brand new W211 2009 E63 for 70k. If the 5.5 is out quickly, then there should be similar incentives to discount new W212 2010 E63s still on the lots.

It might not be so much the green issue as it is being competitive with the new F10 M5 coming soon. The E63 and the M5 have always been pitted against each other as high performance sedans, and with the new W212 chassis the competition is more fierce. When the F10 M5 is released with TTs, then MB needs to be ready to offer the alternative choice.

i meant to say the 2010 might not be as cheap as the 08/09s because they are the old body-style. I don't want to pay 100k for a car, but I can palpate a 60k+ price tag for the e63. I hope there is a used one for <70k in a year when my lease is up. I guess I started this thread to get everyone's opinion on what they think a used one will be available for at that time. No one guess is accurate, of course, but fun to talk about while I bide my time. I test drove a new 2010 e63 and fell in love with it. My wife has an BMW X5 and I want another brand. The new M5 is nice, but I don't care for the look too much. I would also want to see the new tranny, because that SMG transmission made for a rough driving experience.
