Actual performance of 2010 E63 AMG?
I have just received my 2010 E63 AMG earlier this month, and soon after I hit 1000 km's I had a few straight line races with some friends.. and I must say the results werent very satisfying, absolutely contrary to what I had expected. Bear in mind those all happened between 1000' kms and 1500 kms on the odo.
Firstly, tried racing a Carrera S PDK. He beat me from around 40 km/h all the way up to 180 km/h. He just kept pulling away slightly through this whole time.
2010 Audi RS6, managed to keep up with him up to around 90 km/h, then ever so slightly he started pulling ahead.
Audi R8 V10.. but lets not go there.
Jag XF SV8 or whatever its called, the 500+ hp one.. managed to pull away from this one.
2009 CL63 AMG.. our performance was identical. Neither of us could shake the other off all the way up to 170 km/h.
In all honesty, my biggest surprise was the C2S PDK. I was really expecting to chew him up and spit him out at speeds higher than around 80 or 90 km/h, but that just didnt happen, he just kept pulling ahead further and further. Keep in mind all those cars were stock.
Now my question is, will my car's performance improve as the mileage on it increases? I know that my old car, a 08 Carrera S, got quite a bit quicker at around the 7k-9k km's mark.. would it be the same with this E63? Or is this all im ever gonna get out of it?
Thanks for the input fellas! If you have any similiar experiences please do share them here too!

Carrera S shouldve gotten smoked by u , I recently raced one on the highway and from 80-140mph i just kept pulling farther and farther away but i also have some mods . Now a turbo is another story .

Be careful with the '09 S PDK though, that car when in Sport+ mode is really going to surprise you.....

However, with the 997.2 C2S with PDK, it's not such an absolute.

The regular NON-S 997 C2 is just as quick in a straight line as an E92 M3 with DCT. Pretty amazing, considering the published numbers.
I've been wondering how many miles (or kilometers) do the AMG engines have when they are dynoed and rated from the factory? If it only has a few hundred miles and the dyno shows low numbers don't they think something is wrong because the factory-fresh 6.2 isn't putting out the purported HP?
I heard after 3-4K miles, some say close to 8K miles. Any ideas?
also, I hear that deleting charcoal filters does not really do much since the ECU will adjust automatically. I heard that it only improves throttle response. I had mine removed but frankly I can not notice any difference. In fact I am thinking putting mine back.
Also, does the sneaky ECU reset work on the 2010 E63? Anyone tried?
This past weekend I had a run with my buddy's 09 C63 with AMG performance and it was pretty much dead heat. It is interesting since http://www.fastestlaps.com/compariso...s_E63_AMG.html actually favors C63 in a straight line race.
So I don't know: is it too slow for E63, as expected or better than expected? It is hard to figure out, some say E63 should be faster, some C63 should be. The link definitely favors C63 over E63. I only have 1500miles on the car.
