It actually looks pretty good next to the factory LED's.

Does the light get snuffed out by the painted side markers? Maybe a primer coat inside the lens and then the body-match color on the outside? I see this "mod" all the time on this forum, and although I like the way they look, I'm curious about functionality. Also do they clear coat it after the base coat, I would think the paint wouldn't adhere all that well to plastic and could scuff/scratch easily?
EDIT---apparently Verb04 has the same Q's I have.

Yes- the body shop stuffed them nicely in there--- zero glow!!!
When you pull the markers the bulb and the wire are easily pushed down. You can zip tie them there and you will never see them glow thru the reflector.
I have had 4 AMGS and done the painted markers on all of them. 3 of the sets came from Evosport and the paint was factory matching and they didnt chip. The last one was done by the MBZ body shop where I bought the car. They drilled holes in my bumper and I told them I wouldnt take delivery unless they filled them. While this was going to happen I asked them to paint the markers in factory paint and stuff the bulbs- which they did and they an excellent job too. Its pretty hard for them to get chipped since they are not facing forward. Its a cheap and well worthy mod to get rid of that damn orange.
Here's a ridiculous question but I'll ask it anyway:

+1 on the Evosport side markers. I have had mine for 2 years and not one chip

Actually you just push the bulbs down into the fender well and there are places where you can tie down the bulb wires. This way the bulb is on and you dont get any glow but you dont have any bulb out errors either.
