FF. W212 E63 M156 non-pano 18" P2 ParkT NightV (gone but will be missed).
Didn't I tell you people to stay away from pano? That thing benefits only the rear passengers.

It is somewhat startling as sometimes it sounds as if the glass is about to break! I haven't taken it to the dealer yet, as I would have to drive around with a technician looking for driveways or speed bumps to demonstrate the issue. Just curious if anyone else has had this problem or heard of it? Any info would be appreciated. Thank you.
Known issue. They need to drop the headliner and tighten the bolts holding the
sunroof frame to the body. When it happened on mine, four of the bolts were a bit loose.

Most of them
*knocks on wood* 140,000 miles on my 2010 E63, not a peep from my pano roof.

Got my car back, service A plus the sunroof creak is fixed. When putting everything back together they forgot to put one side of the rear sunshade into the track so when I hit the button that side just flopped around on the deck. Luckily it was a simple DIY fix (the trim rail pops right out independently) but this could easily have been a case of something getting stuck and just grenading the sunshade. You'd think the technical docs MB techs have access to include a detailed list of "things to verify are in working order" after re-installing the headliner and the dozen pieces of trim that had to come off.

Mine did the same thing, took it to the local dealer (car is under warranty) they ordered parts and replaced the rails and the crossbar and now everything is fine

It's recently become problematic on my '15 E63 S. Goes into the dealer this coming Friday. I noticed that the 30k mi service is supposed to "lube" it, so maybe that's my issue? Not sure, but it's now happening way too frequently.

Well if you guys have it under warranty it's best done by the dealer, but people have done a DIY on the repair, some have said it's not that complicated because you don't have to drop the entire headliner, just loosen it enough to get at the bolts. Then use loctite on the bolts.
