I was wondering if anyone here on the forums have done anything with their mid-section on their exhaust for the W212 E63? I'm planning on deleting the secondary cats and resonators. Making a custom 304T 3 inch Xpipe replacing the secondary cats and straight to the mufflers. I called Royal Mufflers last week and they quoted me 2500 which is pricey. Does anyone know a good muffler shop that can do a good clean job? And give me some feed back on what setup I should do.

Cliffnotes:

Stock Setup= Cats+ Secondary Cats+Resonator+Mufflers

Custom Setup *Plan*= Cats+ 3inch X-pipe+ 3 inch piping+ Mufflers

Is there any advantages of running a 3 inch pipe? Just wondering because Evosports 63 BK mid-section is 3 inch pipe. Is running a 3 inch pipe better for back pressure, noise, or power?

Dont know but it does flow better and sounds sick . Usually a bigger diameter pipe will increase power up top but you will lose a lil on the low end .

A shop would be the best place to ask that question .

Any one know a good shop down in LA or the OC that does a custom setup for a reasonable price? Or any place that has a good tig welder?

2500 just for a midsection? Is that before or after you told them it's an E63? lol

There's Cypress Muffler in OC, but I don't know if they weld with tig. They did my car for like $300 I think...

I had just my resonator removed and the sound increase was minimal. I asked them if they would do the secondary cat removal and they were hesitant since they didnt have a wide enough X pipe and felt there in house x pipe might snap an exhaust manifold...

So if you come up with a place and we can go at the same time- maybe they will hook us up.

Im in the OC.

I talked to some friends who had their Porsche, BMW, Bentley, and MB custom exhaust work done at a place in LA called AAA Mufflers by a guy named Pepe. They all said he does really good work for a reasonable price. I'm down to go out to AAA Mufflers and let Pepe take a look at our cars. I'm from the 818 area so LA isn't to far for me. I think one of the brothers from HMS got his CLS 63 exhaust done at AAA mufflers by Pepe.

Yes, Pepe is quite well known for his work. And that was John from HMS who took his white CLS there amongst many others that I know. I dont know why I didnt think of him earlier- just was probably hoping for a closer fix than Pepe.

Can you check and see this weekend what he can do? I have a previous engagement I must attend to this weekend but I might be able to pull off a visit the following weekend or day during the week (Fri the 10th).

Edit... I might be able to move some stuff around for this Saturday. Hopefully you can check earlier.

And one other thing: this should get us power right? And no loss of down low TQ??

I don't have time this weekend to get the exhaust work done. I'm hoping to get my car down to Pepe's place in a week or two. I'll let him take a look at my car first so he can give me some idea's. We might gain some power but I'm not sure if we will lose low end torque. But I'll got down to Pepe's place in a week or two and ask him myself just to make sure.

You want a medal

Whats the purpose of growing a business if the people who know that he opened a new shop are being tight lipped or requesting a PM. Just post the address and name here.

I got my exhaust done today at Pepe's new shop in Long Beach. He is super chill and his son bumps pretty good beats while they work on cars. I ended up keeping OEM Cats+3" X pipe+3"pipe+OEM mufflers. I just cut out the Secondary Cats and Resonator off. The car has soo much more push in the high end. Low end sounds like a Aston DBS! The car screams from 4-5 gear. A lot of orgasmic backfires! I will post videos soon!
