E63 AMG 2010
Seemed the M6 dude kept starting early n that made the E63 dude do the same :p Nice video though, I thought the E63 would have the M6/5 at high speeds because it has more bhp and torque. Its scary and dissapointing that a stock M6 can outrun a modified E63

Hey all.
Three things.
Albert, the driver of the E63 was having some problems with this car. There is a thread about it on the C63 forum. long story short he got Kleeman manifolds and he lost some power. He then switched to a K2 file and I think he lost a little more. He is in the process of fixing his issues and quite fed up and upset about the whole thing. I dont blame him.
2nd thing is that M6 driver needs to learn to drive. I raced him a few times and he cant time the horn for anything. We finally got 2-3 runs in. From a dig and from 60 roll and my C63 with an OE tune walked him pretty hard.
Third thing is that the M6 with its V10 is very hard to keep away at high speeds. Soon as the 63 gets past the torque and it becomes a HP war the V10 just walks away on an M6 that has scoops and exhaust.
See my C63 video with a modified M6.

And yes, my car did loose power as stated (I dont bull**** about my car) in many threads. bmanny, that M6 should have walked me, considering I am only ~400 RWHP (yesterday's dyno) and 400lbs heavier. I am surprised my E63 did that well.

The hp numbers are very close to each other and the SMG III tranny shifts faster than the MCT--- its about gearing and the V10 sweet spot sitting in those higher rpm ranges which really yields amazing speeds up top.
Plus as mentioned- Albert's car is not up to par so I can definitely see this happening. The races are actually quite close. The camera makes distances appear greater than in reality.
But man talk about lack of horn synchronization...

One word: GEARING
My neighbor owns a stock M6; he traps 120mph consistently. The shifting/gearing is incredible in those cars.

Is it really about gearing? It just seems like weight is the biggest problem. M6 is just much lighter. My E63 is close to 4600lbs with me (200lbs and full tank). I think that m6 is at least 400lbs lighter. So gearing aside, weight is probably what makes the biggest difference. Stock for stock they make about the same power but the weight gives M6 a big advantage.

To answer your question: yes, it is about gearing.
The gearing is what truly makes the M6 (even the E60 M5s) shine up top well into the deep triple digits.
Did you dial in your car? Run the M6 again ...

Check out before and after dynos: https://mbworld.org/forums/attachmen...-catdelete.jpg
The run with M6 was when my car was performing in BLUE. So it should be a considerable difference this time.

I love watching these runs.
I get a kick out of the Mexico reference in the description on Youtube![rolf](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/rofl.gif)
Doesn't look like any Mexican terrain I've encountered and the M6 makes that "ding" sound for when the air temp hits 37*---sure is a cold snap in Mexico this winter![rolf](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/rofl.gif)
![rolf](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/rofl.gif)
Anyway, fun to watch, but that M6 driver seriously needs to practice the horn a little bit

I'm a little confused.
So you're E63 (at the time of the race) was actually down on power with the mods? But even when below stock ratings your car was able to pull on the M6? I believe the win totally, but its a little harder to believe since every M5/M6 vs. 63 vid, the M cars are always pulling away at higher speed.
