W212 E63 amg vs F10 M5
when the F10 m5 is released sometime in 2012 with the 4.4 twin scroll turbo it supposedly be rated around 575 BHP and close to 550 Lb-ft torque. The 2012 E63, will it get the m157 biturbo? The M5 will likely have lost some weight since the f60. What will come out on top, E63 or M5?

I can only say this much, the F10 M5 will not be lighter than the E60 it actually will heavier by a few hundred pounds. By no means though am i not nervous about how fast it is going to be. At the same time excited because im thinking about picking one up! it comes down to the two cars u mentioned for me.

Its all speculation right now- the cars are not on the road.
Both cars are going to be amazing.

The PP E63 may be able to compete with the F10 they are going to be around the same weight . There will no lag with the dct transmission . 2 great cars.

There is still a lot to find out . so i cant say but the lag issue will also be handled with the twin scroll turbos they are using, that is a main reason while people use twin turbos instead of single to make up for any lag.

Single turbos will have lag and twin turbos were created to cut down lag dramatically . I own a big single turbo Evo 8 mitsubishi . it makes around 800 WHP but under 4k i have no power. Because of reasons like that engineers created twin turbo and even more recently whats called a BI- Turbo . Audi brought about Bi turbo in 2000 which is a dual turbo system that uses one smaller turbo for fast lower end boost and one slightly larger turbo which kicks in a short time after and keeps the boost up throughout the rpm range.

BI,TWIN,DUAL all are the same exact thing,2 turbos.The only car I can think of that used one smaller turbo to build up boost sooner was the RX7 and that was a sequential turbo mess and most just yanked it out for one big turbo.
Your evo is a 4 banger with about as much displacment as a can of pepsi.A 6.3 L MB v8 will spool a single turbo way before 2k.
I know the new one is a 5.5 but if someone was to boost there e63 now,they would not build a twin setup because of lag.

"Twin-turbo": 2 identical turbos.
A twin turbo usually uses 1 turbo for each bank of cylinders.
"Bi-Turbo": Usually Audi specific, but this is the little turbo/big turbo setup
This is a setup that tries to eliminate the problems with a big turbo (lag) and a small turbo (power).
Note: RX-7 Gen III's were listed as twins, I think. They are actually "Bi-turbo" or at least sequential.

Don't forget Benz is famous for under rating hp as well. The old w211s were rated at 476hp but time and time again we were getting dynos just a tick over 500hp.

Whats funny is you say you have a B5 stage 3 in your sig.Audi does NOT use a setup like that.
