VIDEO: Drag Race 2012 E63 vs M5 vs Panamera S vs XF-R

I call bullshi+ on this one...is it just me or did the E63 fall asleep at the launch...there's your 3/10ths right there

http://www.evo.co.uk/videos/planetev...e63_v_xfr.html

EVO magazine released a video showing the brand new 2012 BMW F10M M5 drag racing its rivals; the Mercedes-Benz E 63 AMG, Jaguar XKR, and Porsche Panamera S.

Just a recap. The new 2012 F10 M5 can accelerate from 0-100km/h in just 4.4 seconds, and 0-200km/h in only 13 seconds. The voluntarily limited top speed is 250km/h.

The total length of the drag race is 1,000 meter. Do you have any idea who wins this race?

The BMW won by about 0.3 seconds. I can only assume they tested the e63 without PP, as most tests i have seen seem to be doing that. The race ends between 150-155 MPH, so the e63 with PP would have blown away the M5, and lets be honest, those of us who care about this type of test are either getting PP or getting a tune after we buy the car. The e63 also launched horribly as the creator of this thread already pointed out.

very good performance for the non-PP E63 considering it's **** poor launch..

the M5 had a less than one mph and only a few tenths

but where are the turbo'd pannies? I'm sure the turbo would have laid waste to the XFR and the turbo s would have annihilated all three

The E63 had the PP. However as noted - the drivers reaction time. Nonetheless, I would have expected it to do better...

I think they used a Panamera S because they knew it would've raped everything else from a dig.

They used the Panamera S because of price...they thought the Turbo was way more expensive than the other 3, so they only used the S

Oh wow they did it because of the price. Its EVO not Consumer Reports, it should've been a performance based competition especially if they're drag racing.

How do you know it had PP?? I would strongly assume, even put money on the new E63 PP to actually rape the new M5. Also I dont see alcantara steering wheel on the E63 thats why I think its not PP. But I might be wrong

Mercedes C63 amg, Bmw X5,
I would say that only Turbo S will kill them all. And even then the E63 PP is only 0.5 sec slower to everything from 0 to above 100mph. Tune the E63 with PP and it will kill the Turbo S I believe. I know some will say tune Turbo S and it will kill tuned E63, but then the debate could go on forever. The normal Panamera Turbo is actually slower 0.2sec to 100mph

THIS.

The Panamera Turbo is a beast. using Porsche launch control it leaps out of the gate and no car in this group would catch it......

My wife has one. From a roll, dig or even in the driveway, it humiliates others. ***EDIT**** (except for that FUGLY back end. Front and interior are great, but that back end ruins it for me)

Wrf are u just begin ignorant or stupid? Panamera Turbo wont eat the E63 PP with the V8 biturbo engine. It will be faster from 0 60 using its amazing launch control but anything above that and the E63 PP will EAT IT. THIS IS THE ONLY SCENARIO YOU WILL SEE WHEN U RACE E63 PP with ur wifes panamera. Be prepared to get smoked And of course POISON it will eat ur E63 because you have an old engine in it. U need a blower to smoke panamera tubro, but then you would also smoke the TURBO S=)))

E63 test car is also featuring silver brake calibers. I know this is a no cost option but would a dealer order this on a PP car?

This is the car featured in the article / drag race:

But looking at this it seems it has alcantara steering wheel:

As you are quick to point out that I am possibly ignorant and stupid, I'll go ahead and ask you some questions......... Rather than make an assumption based on your grammar and sentence structure.

Have you driven a Panamera Turbo side by side with an E63 PP in the 1/4 mile? from a roll?

I'm guessing you haven't and that you are just magazine racing.

awesome. please continue.

Also, regarding the wife's Panamera Turbo, it is modified.

i easily smoked a Panamera Turbo from rolling (80km - 250) with my stock CLS63 TT PP, i gave him a fair 6 cars length and the owner didn't believe me when i said my car is stock .

so from rolling there is no comparison my friend. we try with others all days.

you can check one of my threads that i even tried with a SL65 BS and check the video link, not that much diffrence untill my car speed limiter @ 250km

No way can a CLS63 reel in and spank a Panamera Turbo who has a 6 car lead to begin with. Either it was a Panny S with a Turbo badge or the owner didn't want to risk his or anyone else's life pushing his car to such limits on a public road.

Panamera Turbo's advantage is the launch. It does a 0to60 of 3.5 but only hits 11.9 in the quarter @115, meaning it will give up steam to the CLS post 60 foot

The CLS is a freight train with way more boost

Ill tell you that today I hit 150+ twice in Mexico and it felt like nothing getting there. Whats different is my CLS is much more linear thru the gears than my E63 which is more brutal. Not sure why I feel it like that but I do. The E63 which is N/A almost feels like IT has the turbo lag and then explodes while the CLS's power is always on tap...

And yes the Pan TT has the AWD system which is always going to hurt a car in higher speeds runs...
