Extended Warranty
Have you guys ever heard of not qualifying for a MB extended warranty? I'll either trade it in before it expires or go with a third party like EasyCare.
Thoughts?

My understanding is that second owners need to get a car certified before they can buy the extended limited warranty.
Ideally the dealer who sold you the car, sold it as CPO, making you qualified to buy the extended limited warranty.
Makes one wonder if it did not qualify for CPO either for an undisclosed reason.
Most buyers expect CPO to be thrown in free but if a buyer offers to pay for it the dealer should jump on it.

I'm just curious if you ever purchased an ELW, as 2nd owner on a non CPO car.
If so that's something I never thought possible.
What always baffled me is a lot of dealers will not even consider selling the warranty extension when not the original owner. I guess it baffled me because with the BMW we just sold it was my understanding BMW will sell an extension just so long as you own the car and its miles are before the factory warranty.
I'm just guessing here but i imagine MBZ has all sort of condition codes for cars when they bring it into their used inventory. So maybe they don't know about the wheels per se, but its sitting in the system that identifies it as having been modded/or not certifiable which shows up on the warranty guys dashboard. Kinda like when George Costanza tries to return that book but its been marked as having been in the bathroom....

I'm unclear as to whether you are in the E63 currently or not. If not, look for another car...looks like this one has bad karma.
We got out of the market for an E63 when we thought a overseas relocation was going to happen. So never bought one. When the transfer did not happen we considered a C63 because our driving needs had since changed. We were holding off to do an ED on a C63 later this year but delaying on that while waiting to sell off one of our homes. We might get nothing because since we moved we have just needed one of our four vehicles so kind of makes no sense to replace what we just sold.

I recently got quoted $3gs for an extra 3/75K by a lady at MBZ and she didn't have any information on my car and was ready to sell it to me on the phone...I bet she woulda re-traded if she started doing paperwork and she found something she didn't like. Point is, most salespeople want to hook you as fast as possible and work out the details later.
Anyways, we're all just stabbing in the dark here. There must be a reason Mark won't sell it to you, especially if he did a little homework for you on the car. I mean, he's not selling you the car, he's selling warranties so cant see where he would benefit from steering you to another vehicle.
Maybe its time to move over to an Equus. I hear they give 10 years...Either way good luck with your search.
The new model is comming out soon and should be lighter and have a DCT.
I'm keeping an eye out for it as MCT and weight are my only real gripes with my E63.
