Under some capitalism, the rich actually robs from the poor to pay for it. So ultimately, the poor is the one paying for it and then geting it second-handed. By the way, the poor doesn't even pay for it, it's the middle class who gets shafted.

Forget the rhetoric, keep to the point and then explain how the fact that the 'rich' who pay $150k+ for a car that sells a few years later for $25k is robbing the poor or middle class. I think you will find that it's the middle class who gain mightily from this arrangement

Bad example from my part on using the E63 and also other MB's or AMG's. This category of cars, which include the SLS and the SLR is still mostly accessible to those in the middle class. It's simple depreciation on all things that are non-assets. All things that are toys or liabilities depreciate, and cars are exactly that. That's why cars are deemed non-assets by many. Therefore, some would like to have it sooner and newer, and they are willing to swallow the larger chunk or depreciation. Same thing happens to all classes on this depreciation thing.

As for the rich robbing the middle and the poor, my thinking is directed more towards the top 0.01%. For the 0.01%, the league consists of cars like Veyron or Zonda, the price of those are so astronomical that it is for certain that a good portion of it is paid for by robbing from the middle and the poor. IMHO, there are only a few that can achieve that 0.01% without robbing the middle and the poor in one way or the other.

I wonder how long it will take for a Zonda to depreciate to the level where I can afford it...nay, forgetaboutit for me in this lifetime. While on this subject, I'm sure some of you already know the Zonda 760RS costs USD2.6million. Whew, depreciation will take a while...Zzzzzzz. But damn...that 7.3-liter AMG V12 with the well-paired exhaust sure sounds gooooooood.
