19 vs 20

looking to upgrade rims from the factory 18'' rims
anyone who went with 20's regret and wish they went with 19's due to a decrease in performance?

FF. W212 E63 M156 non-pano 18" P2 ParkT NightV (gone but will be missed).
And further limit in tire selection. I have just found out Michelin PSP is not available for the 19" rear tires. I'm glad I chose 18".

Lightweight 20s will not decrease performance and will look better. As mentioned tire selection and cost may be a concern.

I fear potholes, so I'm looking into 19s over 20s.

I only know that the forged 19" is supposed to weigh less than the regular 19"

If you get the right 20's then you should fine performance wise... HRE comp series and monoblok wheels all weigh in the low low 20 lb ranges. No matter what though you will increase inertia and rotational mass but HRE focuses the weight toward the center very well. (others do too- depending on brand and model but some are terrible)

I always felt 20's were the best for form and function and 19's always sided on the functional side. I havent bought a set of 19's in a long long time--- my 2004 E55 was the last set that I actually bought as my 2011 997.2 Turbo and my 2007 997.1 Turbo came with HRE P40s already fitted. I would stay 19's on the Porsche as its a true sports car. I got 20's on my CL65, M6, GTR, M3, E63, CLS63, and E63 Wagon.

20's are fine for the E:

20x9
20x10

are ideal.
