My new E63 has arrived

After about a 6 week wait (car was already spec'ed and slated for production when I originally visited the dealership), my 2012 E63 is here. I immediately swapped to DFWDude's flat badge, installed clear side markers and got her tinted.

The car is Diamond White with PP, Illuminated Door Sills and Pano roof as you can see. Since it was already spec'ed, I didn't get the LSD or Parktronic which I'm a little miffed by. Who builds a $100k vehicle without parking sensors? Anyhow, the car looks incredible and the exhaust is intoxicating. On to the obligatory pics...

Congrats, the car in unbelievable! nice side markers, I have almost same car as yours... but with 19" wheels. I'm looking into white side markers though. Can anyone please provide me with some input as where to purchase them?

Different strokes for different folks as they say. The upright badge seems a bit old-fashioned to me. And no, the car doesn't have any other packages or options. I'm fine with that as I'm not looking for any more electronic assistance, just a great driving experience.

Thats one badass looking car, great color, especially with the black pano roof.. I think someone mentioned your flat badge, I think they meant, does it fit right? Looks like it isn't filling the entire hole, a little off? But I love the flat badge also over the star ornament.

Thanks for the compliments. Regarding the flat badge, I do see what you're suggesting about the picture. Not sure why because Rob's (DFWDude) badge is a quality product and a perfect fit.

Is it just a shadow in the pic, or does it not cover the entire area? either way, the whole package looks sick and good luck with it.

The upright badge on a muscle car just doesn't look right IMO. The flat one is just what these bad *** ****'s need.

Its a Mercedes, not a muscle car. It just comes down to preference.

Hey, I just noticed your SC tag (then Cola in your info area). Maybe one day you can make it up to Cars and Coffee Upstate. I need help getting more Mercedes at the event to put those pesky BMW's that show up in their place.

Wiki Def of Muscle Car:

Muscle car is a term used to refer to a variety of high-performance automobiles.[1] The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines muscle cars as "any of a group of American-made 2-door sports coupes with powerful engines designed for high-performance driving."[2] A large V8 engine is fitted in a 2-door, rear wheel drive, family-style mid-size or full-size car designed for four or more passengers. Sold at an affordable price, muscle cars are intended for mainly street use and occasional drag racing.[3][4][5][6] They are distinct from two-seat sports cars and expensive 2+2 GTs intended for high-speed touring and road racing. Developed simultaneously in their own markets, muscle cars also emerged from manufacturers in Australia, South Africa, the United Kingdom, and elsewhere.

Yeah, been in SC my entire life. Let me know prior to the next meet, and I'll see what I can do. BTW, I was one of those pesky BMW guys until this week. My previous two rides were a E60 M5 and E70 X5M, haha.

You have no idea what I'm saying? You were trying to say that the the hood star doesnt look right on a muscle car. I think you were referring to the E63 as a muscle car. I said that the E63 is NOT a muscle car, its a Mercedes, meaning luxury car FIRST, therefore the hood star looks more then fine. And then I said it comes down to personal preference which ever you choose. The star or the flat badge.

I think the upright star and the oem grill is slightly better at hiding under the radar. I like the upright star, but I'm worried that one of these days somone is going to ripped it off my hood and wear it around the neck.

I like the upright star too, but when you got the hood (or bonnet to some) of the "luxury muscle" car up in the garage beware of lowering or raising the garage door. For some reason the upright star is able to wrap itself around the emergency release string for the automatic door perfectly and make one hell of a noise disengaging the door. Luckily nothing happened.
