Got new tires today tire pressures???

All I could get was a new set of pzero. Same as factory. Any ideas on tire pressures? Different numbers on door jamb vs gas cap. Many help would be much appreciated.

Thx.

I set them at 34 psi (cold) all around to minimize picking up road debris, ie nails.

depends on your preference, but all of the above is fine.

I run at 36/39 during winter. summer is 34/37, usually heats up to 37/40 ish.

feel it out and see what you like, but fronts should be -2 less (lower profile tires 30 vs 35).

Just make sure you set psi when tires are nice and cold, I set mine in the morning.

Try nitrogen to lessen the temperature increase.

Recommended tire pressures state that the rears should be lower than the front. Is this correct? All of my previous cars have higher rear pressures, if not same all round.

I think this is unique to the CLS--- as I see the same on the inner gas cap on my CLS63TT.

In regards to the E63 (2010) I would follow the lightest load recommendation PSI which shows on the inner side of the gas cap. These are cold temps though.

I was referring to my E63 TT. I guess it's unique to the M157 cars

That's strange. I thought the curb vehicle weight of the M156 and M157 engined car are quite similar, at around 4200 lbs. The weight distribution for M156 E63 is 54.5% front and 45.5% rear (not sure about M157 E63, though). So why would the tire psi front and back be that much different between the two cars?

I think you are referring to GVWR (gross vehicle weight rating). I think that means the maximum weight allowed for the entire vehicle. In another word, you can carry another 2000 lbs.

pressure

glad I found this thread. I was reading the inner door jam and it said 51 PSi. I was shocked and looked at the max psi on Pzero is 51.

Why would there be different PSI ratings on two different places on the car

its too bad there is no concensus on what the right pressure should be,

granted there are different climates, and driving styles, but there should be something close
