Question for you W212 V8 TT guys
The other day I was talking to my friend who is a shop foreman at a MB dealer in California. He pointed out that off lately he has been seeing a lot of E and CLS that have the V8TT motor with slipping transmission. He said that the common thing on most off these cars was that they had aftermarket downpipes.
Is there any truth to this that the 7 speed cant handle the additional TQ produced with a ECU tune and downpipes.

no it is not true
i drive it hard, and no problem + the new gear is on the new SL65 so it can handle the TQ + it is on the new Brabus Rocket 800hp 1100NM
so i don't think it has any problem.
i also replaced my gear oil, my milage 54k km , it is required to change it @ 45k km.
so far so good.

correct, this is not true, not experienceing any slippage yet.
I have a eurocharged tune and actaully getting used to the power now. Feels like the car should of came this way.
either way you will be surprised on the power once you get tuned.

Sorry guys, I'm disappointed to report I have experienced some infrequent tranny slippage, including failure to engage (i.e., I shift to reverse and hit the gas but I drift forward because tranny's in neutral).
Not enuf to make me worry yet, but if it happens any more often I'm takin her in.

if you open driver door with engaging handbrake, it will shift it to P even if you are driving 30 - 40 km lol or at 0 speed.
i hate it when it does that.
so make sure not to open driver door before putting it on N/P or pressing handbrake.

FF. W212 E63 M156 non-pano 18" P2 ParkT NightV (gone but will be missed).
That sounds scary. Does that mean it becomes P even when the car is moving, thus grinding the car to a halt with locked wheels?
