How much do you pay for insurance?
I'm trying to get a feeler, because I think my dad is paying way too much for his insurance. The company, annual mileage, amount of medical coverage and age would be enough for me to see if my dad is paying too much...

MJthind... how much is your dad paying now ? and for which car models / year? it all depends on how many cars do you have insured , your driving records, age, and how the cars are primarily used..and also how long have you had your insurance w/ that same company. Do you also have home insurance with them? all that factor into the annual cost of your car insurance.

$1600/year for 4 cars (2 with full coverage).
Mercury is the cheapest I have ever found.
20% discount with home owners policy.
Plus another 15% discount if you are an engineer.
Discounts for these also (but I don't know the ammounts): Scientist, Educator, CMA, LA County Bar, CalCPA, Alumni Association.

We live in a gated community, oh lets correct that number to 2500, 3200 was including his Hayabusa. I made a mistake asking him, I asked him how much does he pay for himself not including his other weekend warrior, so he included Hayabusa insurance too...

Just got insurance renewal in the mail.
Insurance company is trying to raise me to $2300/year (thats a $700 increase).
They upped my mileage on each car, without even asking me.
I'm not supposed to notice?
I'm emailing my agent now and we will talk tomorrow.
