2014 E63 4matic... European delivery ?
I've been an owner of an 07 Audi S6 and its come time to upgrade. The new e63 fits exactly the profile of what I'm looking for. The new 4matic is great for performance and is useful if you live in places that get snow (northeast), like I do. Obviously no one can deny that this car is extremely powerful and it can go head to head with 99% of cars on the road today. I've seen other posts where a number of people are not happy that MB and AMG have decided to go with less aggressive styling for this car. Personally, I like the subtlety of the design because I think it looks great, but at the same time it's not a car that will draw a lot of unnecessary attention (except from true enthusiasts). For the people who wanted something more aggressive/beefy/flashy i feel that the new CLS should be able to fill that void. Either way, i've decided that I do want to make this my next car and wanted to know if anyone here has any experience with the European delivery program. It sounds like a great opportunity but will it be available for this car around the same time it's released in the US? Is it worth it? They say you get 7% off vehicle MSRP when you choose European delivery, will that cover all costs of making the trip out there? Any advice, opinions, or criticism appreciated lol. Thanks!

I am planning on doing euro delivery on a 2014 E Class 550 coupe (have to get that V-8 while still available). I contacted a dealer her in Mpls. and they told me I should order the car 6 months ahead of my travel date to make sure i get everything I want on it. Between order time & final delivery were are looking at 9 months??? I hope these cars are good because I probably wont get a chance to try one out beforehand.

Euro Cars Only
I live in Europe and have lived in several different countries around the continent. I suggest you do it and enjoy the scenery. It will be an experience you will not forget.
I doubt that the 7% will cover all other expenses but hey, if you're about the purchase this bad boy allow yourself to go wild on a roadtrip while you're at it.

Does anyone know when you have to pay for the car before heading to Germany to pick it up? Looking for the straight answer. I've heard 30, 45 and 60 days so far. If you have to pay for the car two months before, then having to wait three months after returning, it almost wipes out the savings,. Five months of payments and no car? To add to that ill still be making lease payments on my current car until the Benz shows up. Thanks...

Well, I called the MB Euro delivery office and here is what I found out: The dealer sets the payment terms because they end up owning the car if for some reason I back out before they cancel production. Some dealers charge a deposit fee, but Mercedes does not require it. After all that it appears obvious to me that dealers who turn a lot more cars will probably have the most favorable terms. I also found out I can buy the car from wherever and have it delivered to my local dealer. That is the definitive answer...
They were very nice and said to call them when I had the delivery date set so they could arraign something special for me when I arrvied in Germany. I could think of a couple of good suprises if I was going to Amsterdam to pick it up..

Kirkster,
I'm confused. When does the 2014 E550 get released in the US? Did the European delivery office tell you when is the earliest you can order your 2014 for European delivery?
Others on this forum said European delivery is not available at the same time as US release and that you have to wait at least 6 months.
Personally I'm in the market for the 2014 E63 so i dont know if thats any different. Either way I dont qualify for the 7% off MSRP so i'd have to spend out of pocket to take a trip to europe for delivery, doubt ill do that

It hasn't been released in the US yet. Sometime this summer.. I plan to order late fall for early spring delivery in 2014.

i just heard back from Herbert / Escondido MB and thier terms are 10 days for payment prior to delivery, but they require a $2K deposit at the time of the order. That I can hang with.

Sorry gents, there is NO european delivery on the E63's. Check with MBUSA or your dealer GM, and the story is the same.....it would be nice especially at 7% off MSRP plus all the other goodies eith euro delivery...but ....No.

i've been doing research on this Euro delivery thing and for some reason there are tons of You Tube videos of folks picking up their car at the BMW Welt vs. virtually nothing for Mercedes. Most of the Merceds stuff is a few years old. I have a hard time believing that MB would let BMW out compete them on this. MB euro facility looks like a garage compared to the Welt. I am just trying to view some newer vids on the MB pick up process and they just arent out there.
