3rd row retrofit in AMG wagon? done.

If others who when trough this transformation, can you provide more pictures and perhaps how the operation works? I can't picture how the seat folds into the floor.
TIA

I used the 3rd row in my '07 AMG wagon and wish I could have it now... In fact I can't wait to get rid of the Range Rover for the LR4 so we can have 3rd row again. Car pooling kids is not easy with only 5 seats.
Cheers

I can get all of the parts for you if you like (I've got a good relationship with my dealer's parts department). Cost is still hovering around $5,000 for all of the parts.
- would an older child about 5 feet tall be able to fit?
- is the metal piece that was cut a stress bearing component?
- would it fit with the B&O subwoofer? I think I saw someone post that it should fit.
Thanks!

If you can get all the parts then you must have a list of the parts needed. I'm in Florida and it would be better and less expensive to order the parts locally, and not have to ship them cross country. Please post the parts list or pm me with the list.
Thank you Gene

Can I ask those that have done the conversion to add third row seats if there are any pitfalls I should anticipate?
Anyone in Western Canada interested in the parts for their own project?
Edit: black interior

The structural brace - which absorbs the major brunt of the impact energy - is located along the rear bumper.
If the vehicle hitting you from behind is taller than yours - an SUV, pickup, or commercial truck compared to a wagon - then the structural brace (hard point of impact) on that vehicle will be above the structural brace on your vehicle. It will plow right through the soft crumple zone and deliver severe consequences to the third row occupants.
On an SUV, there is a much better chance your rear brace is at the level of or higher than the vehicle hitting you. Unlike a sedan, with a large crumple zone, a wagon's third row passengers are in the crumple zone.
Again, not my area of expertise, I could be wrong. But it's pretty hard to imagine that rear hatch is not structurally soft, and you don't have the distance that a trunk or an engine bay give for energy absorption, so absent proof otherwise, I would not be comfortable having passengers in there.
Thanks in advance!
