Couple of questions

Hi guys,

I've been offered a fantastic deal on the new 2013/14 (4WD) E63. I have a couple questions though which i'd appreciate answers to.
1.) What average MPG do you get? (Urban & highway)
I know this will be different to the new model but I wanted a ball park.

2.) how many services have you had to do?

Thanks, Billy

Just came back from a trip, almost all highway, from Toronto to Upstate NY, 1400 km's, avg a tick under 19MPG.

Driving like a douche in the city most of the time drops that down to avg 11-13MPG!

2) I brought mine in around 1500km's and changed the LSD oil as per the big *** sticker on the windshield and also changed the engine oil. I also brought it in to check out the "Check Engine" light last week and the computer read that it was a the pre cat O2 sensor. cleared fault and it came back on yesterday. So with next week's service it'll be 3 times.

Hope that helps!

Thanks for the info, can I ask was the mostly highway journey sat in traffic, cruising or quite aggressive driving? Its much lower than I expected. I saw it was a 2013 (Looks good btw ) is it the 6.2 or 5.5?

Thanks

No problem!

Highway cruising was pretty boring and straight. Usually 65-80 MPH, light traffic here and there, but no stop and go stuff.

City driving is usually driven pretty hard.... cant' help myself sometimes....

the 2013 is the Twin Turbo 5.5

Once you start driving the thing, the only time you'll think about fuel mileage is when you're filling it up with premium and you get the eye watering bill! Price you pay for having this much fun! Trust me, my wife had a prius and I'm surprised I'm not dead from falling asleep at the wheel that damn thing was so boring! You won't regret your purchase!

Thanks so much for all your help! I need to test drive on just to justify it I think, worked out to around £4500 a year on fuel alone

No problem! Good luck on the test drive and remember to roll down the window to engine/exhaust noise, simply to die for!

So apparently you're in the U.K.? I assume you know that the e63 AWD is not available in RHD, so presumably you'd be importing a LHD.

I figured you must be somewhere in Europe since US pricing hasn't even been announced.

Yes I am, are you sure it's not available? As i've been offered a fantastic quote on a lease? It says no where about it being left hand drive only?
Thanks for pointing it out, i'll research it later!

Pretty much every article, press release, blog, or video you could find will tell you AWD is not available on RHD cars. The front diff would interfere with the steering column.

And the initial press release by MB in Jan seemed to be for UK and all references to 4matic were expunged.

I have a 6.3. on the highway i can get up to 21.5 if i feather it and if the highway is not hilly. Just driving normal (no sprints but at the same time not managing the pedal) is probably around (19.5-20 mpg).

City driving depending on how much traffic about 15-16 if you're in the burbs. In, NYC I get 12-14mpg. Imagine that the 5.5 is a bit better than that.

Hoep this helps

Thanks for your info! I am actually surprised its so low on the highway, but 80% of my driving will be city anyway. 15 is what I guessed it would, doesnt seem too bad considering my E250 CDI only does 25
I hope it will be slightly more efficient, I checked the brochure and it claimed around 38MPG on highway, sounds more like it!
