We're talking about aftermarket 19" wheels that can clear the front CCB brakes.

OK, but what's the basis of your post?

This is my car. With winter tires. Mounted on 19" optional CLS wheels. They clear 17 5/8" at the hub mating surface.

Obviously there is no issue with fitment.

Since your calibers are painted red I assume they are the steel brakes. The carbon ceramic brake's calibers are painted yellow. I think the concern here is wheel fitment with carbon ceramic brakes because they are larger than the steel brake setup.

Because I have them on my car, that's the basis haha. You just need to measure the ID(inside diameter) of the wheels, like I said before it needs to be at least 18". Most 19" wheels are about 17.5 inside.

For example a 19" renntech 10 spoke monolite wheel wouldn't clear the front CCB brakes.

Ok, so now we're getting somewhere.

Since your profile lists only a W211, it's not obvious that you might have firsthand knowledge of the fitment.

The CCBs are about 40mm larger, so that's about 3/4" more on the radius. Which is quite a bit. I don't see the specs anywhere on the calipers, but assuming they're similarly sized, I can see that something in the range of 18" might clear.

Seems odd to me that the stock 19" 10 spoke cast wheels will clear the CCB, yet the Renntechs won't....

It's the caliper that is taller on the inside where you don't see it and makes fitment issues. I was surprised too at the renntech wheel not fitting but if you look inside it has a huge inner lip as where the stock oem amg wheel doesn't. Same with the spare wheel from your car, has no inner lip. I will post some pictures to see what I'm talking about.

I've been impressed with the stock brakes. Why not just do pads only @ 40 K miles with the stock brakes? From a good independent foreign auto Mercedes guy that can't be anymore than 2 grand I'd think, maybe less. I don't see why you'd need to do anything with the rotors as long as the pads were not worn all they way down. These stock rotors seem tough as nails, I know mine are still totally true at 26K miles, no pedal pulsing or anything. Like was said, myself I like the red calipers much better than that funky orange color too.

Totally waste of money if you are not tracking the car.

The lack of brake dust is a very nice plus- without the need to switch over to ceramic pads on the regular steel brakes.

Can u resurface slotted and drilled rotor like you can with basic non performance rotors?

I would not even bother resurfacing them, I would just throw pads on them at around 40K miles or so and I think it would be fine as long as the brakes were not pulsating at all before hand. I wonder if Hawk makes pads for these cars? I've heard they are pretty good pads. Or just throw these on for $140.00 for all four wheels, can't be too hard just to change pads.

For those of you hesitating about CCB because of concerns about aftermarket wheel fitment, just wanted to let you know that the Replika R142 I got for winter wheels work fine... did a dry run yesterday and they clear calipers and dust shield in the back of rotor (this thing is really big, I wonder why so big!)

Yess!! Finally here at last. I'm almost happy the first one (black) got dammaged since I really like the palladium with the night package! Now I know what "AMG blueballs" someone was referring too feels like! Looking forward to Tremblant in 2 1/2 months also!
