Impressive performance from the GT500. But between the two, I would rather have the M5. The interior of the GT500 is really not a place to live in, whereas M5 is the exact opposite.

For a stock '11 GT500, yes it is surprising. I personally don't believe it was stock (stock exhaust my ***, I have GT500 mufflers on my Boss and open side pipes, and it's quieter than that) to put down the M5 like that, crappy shifting and all, but the Shelby does have the weight advantage and a roll negates the M5's launch control. Maybe the M5 was in the wrong gear? Good race though.

Ive Seen this before. The problem is that guy has the 6 speed (a waste IMO)
and not the DCT. that is one of the M5's biggest weapons.

I'm not surprised 640hp vs. 550hp. The Shelby is a beast. Even if you put a tune in the M5 you still may not win.

Its a 2011 they come with 550hp. the 2013's come with the 650hp and even then im sure u would still win against those as well. Ive seen the biturbo's put close to 650 to the wheels.

IDK about that. The driver cant drive or it wasnt in M Mode . 2013 M5 is rated @ 560 HP 502 lb-ft. Either way Both cars are nice , If i was to do a Stang it would be the GT500 KR , if i had to choose. M5 all day . Cockpit to small in the stang for me.

Definitely something isn't right with the F10 M5's driver. 2011 GT500 makes 550 hp. Yeah no way the F10 M5 would lose like that especially.

Just a pulley change and tune puts down 550hp and torque to the wheels.

That would make sense, with the 6-speed you lose the gearing advantage of the DCT.

2009 black R35.. first sold in queens NY area. I sold it. Bought it new in nov of 2008, launched 70 times or so before I snapped the 1st gear in the trans.. At the time nobody offered upgrades for it so I had to wait 4 months for PPG to make a 1st gear upgrade! Shipped it to Georgia dumped 40k into with every mod available, came back an absolute beast! drove it and enjoyed the hell out of it for 1 year then traded it in for a Jeep SRT8, yes jeep srt8 lol everyone thought I was nuts until the dude that purchased it from the dealer where I traded it in at blew the motor 1 week into owning it! Now it's running low 9's here's a vid

The Shelby does sounds nice. But straight line racing a BMW is like taking a hooker fishing " it's fun, but not what you are paying for"

The V10 BMW M5s and M6s are were on par with the older Lamborghini Gallardos and even the Ferrari F430 to an extent.

I can't say the same about the newer M5s and M6s but those are already a lot faster than the V10 versions.

The performance of the F10 seems to be random though, and not by small amounts. Some are strong stock and eat PP E63s for breakfast and some get beat by stock C63s. It makes no sense.

Then again they're not selling well. I see 530 for sale new across the country sitting on lots. They should be starting fire sales on them any time now. I had a local dealer tell me he wouldn't sell one for less than MSRP. I laughed and said you have 4 sitting here, call me when you start dumping them for $15-20k off to get rid of them.
