Somewhere in Mexico going 180+

hit 185 up a slight grade, but the pic was too blurry.

Wow dude! Can't believe you had the walnuts to snap a pic at that rate of speed!

Guess you're outfitted with the PP.

Nice run!

Was a.m. I was pissed, I really wanted to try and hit 190 (fastest I've been was 192 in a gt3 I used to have), but the slight grade and lack of intestinal fortitude kept me from achieving the goal.

Very few people achieve this much speed on a public road and live to tell about it...

Yes, I wouldn't go near the border especially after reading about all those drug wars and Dept of States bulletins, which tell anyone to stop at any road block whether or not the road block is legitimate or not. Stop and you will have a chance to be alive. Not stopping, and you will most like going to be in a hail of bullets from machine guns. I don't know about you, but I wouldn't want to be in that situation to decide which way I want to take.

Outrun them with that speed?!...Try doing that when they send a .50BMG your way at 2800 ft/sec to pierce the entire length of your vehicle via a Barrett that has an effective range of 2000 yards. And yes, both the federal and druggy have the Barrett.

i assume you were in the softest suspension mode to avoid bumps unbalancing the car?

A moving target at roughly 180mph. It's 2,000 meters away. Slight breeze, direction of your choice. Add in a "druggy". You really think he's going to hit you? One of my good friends is a scout sniper in the Marines. It's not that easy to just aim and shoot a 50. Cal.

But yeah, if you run into a group of thugs down there blocking the road with AKs your SOL.

F*ck no. S+ with hardest suspension. There is so much downforce on the car that the softest setting probably irrelevant anyway.

Yes, the .50 is mostly for the intimidation factor, esp it's also really hard to control and aim. But if you end up at a road block, I have the feeling that Barrett is really up close and personal and unlikely to miss. That will be scary.

Yup, the situation with the road blocks with AKs, etc will be the one 99% of the time...no good.

Hmm, softest suspension would have been the safest option. But it seemed to work out!

You guys do realize that top speed or racing runs in Mexico have nothing to do with Mexico, right?

Some of us got taken off topic for a while when we saw "Mexico." At least I did. Nevertheless, it's a great country.

My god! You took the pic yourself? That's pretty crazy/dangerous, travelling ~80 metres per second.

The fastest I've been is the limiter at 255km/h (158mph). No way I'd be reaching for the camera at that speed even.
