6.2l vs. 5.5 biturbo
so I was looking for new amg for past few days I came across few of them.. most of them were with the 6.2l 2010 year 20-30k miles on it... and price range 55k to 60k
and there were few of them with 5.5 biturbo, price range 70-80k so its not a big diff.
what I wanted to know any of you guys drove both of them for longer time ? ive drivien both and its not so much diff.
so what do you guys think of that ? wich is better ? in your opinion wich one is faster for you guys?
thank you again for all your respones in previos topics I hope I get same results here.
thanks again.

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
I think it's the same with the new 997 GT3 with the new 3.8. It's more powerful, surely faster and more efficient in every way. But the old 3.8 has a history in motorsport and a wonderful character.
Try them both and pick the one you like best. They are both awesome machines!

'13 CLS63 now,not a huge difference when it was stock (with PP),turned into a breathtaking monster with just the R1 pkge from Renntech.
It's a different World.......

The 6.3 is that last of the great n/a engines that Benz is making and look at its pedigree:
C63 Black Series (I have)
CLK Black Series
SLS
AMG's (S, E, SL, C, etc)
What else?
the throttle response from the engine is amazing and once you take out the resonator its incredible (the 5.5 sounds good too with the resonator out but not as good). My C63 Black is/was slower than my 5.5's but it is by far the better car to drive from linear standpoint (thanks Max), throttle response, heat soak resistance, sound, and a few others. Did I mention the sound?

Speed is not everything--- and in this case the 6.3 makes a great point. This is my opinion having owned and owning 2 of each...

I'm just a little disappointed. The throttle response Rlly sucks. I'm hoping a tune will change everything I've said In this post....
It is a matter of preference. Both are awesome.

Josh
After doing the Eurocharged V3 tune. I picked up an astonishing 35TQ/HP AT THE WHEELS, in the mid range and the torque ramps up big time at 2500rpm instead of 4000rpm? Keep In mind the ML63 has an abnormally high drivetrain loss, so that's closer to 50TQ at the crank over the clk63 black series tune (aka ML63 tune). In addition, the way Jerry wrote the tune, it actually feels like a turbo spooling at 2500rpm. That plus resontator bypass and air filters/charcoal delete was over 40HP/TQ In the mid range. Now it feels like the newer ML63 without any of the flaws the newer ML63 has.
If you want a fair comparison, it should be the old 6.2 tune with the Eurocharged V3 tune vs a stock 5.5L biturbo AMG.

Though I am looking forward to jumping on the 4matic bandwagon and hope that sticks around and in more models.
and just about anything else for that matter. lol
