Thanks so much again. Spent the day putting my V1 in with a concealed display in the ash tray. Could not have done it without your help.

I did not use the smart cord, I used the hard wire with remote mute switch. This lets you turn off the display on the radar for night stealth mode and allows you to see and mute from the remote display. Call Escort and ask them.

Very nice DIY install.

FYI, I'd ditch the 9500Ix and get me a Redline though. It'll hook right up to the Escort mount you have there and the wires and LIVE will work on the Redline as well.

Very cool, I did not get a Redline because I don't drive like I use to on long trips on interstates.

All my driving is city, and brief highway on 405/5 in South OC.

The iX is a great unit for local/city driving and also has Red Light Camera capabilities. BUT , if you want ultimate performance, the latest (New Redline with the Band segmentation and RDR OFF) is the ticket. Its beating V1s **** in many tests.

redline and 9500 are pretty similiar, i was back and forth about getting one vs the other....i figured longest range is key, hence the redline, but it is super sensitive with the K band, which isnt the coppers in so-cal.....the gps false alerts lockouts is a good thing with the 95

You KNOW NOT of which you speak. Totally different units with different platforms and different purposes. Like comparing a C32 to a C63, totally different cars!!

The RL is based on the superior M3 platform and the 9500iX is based on the M4 platform. The M3 is quicker/faster and has longer range capabilities than the structurally smaller and less capable M4. Plus the new Redline uses a different LNA and HORN (antenna) than the ix. Software (firmware) is even different. Its apples and oranges.......................In some cases, particularly off-axis, Redline will alert to Ka or even K at DOUBLE the range of the iX.
