Anyone running 295/30ZR19 on stock rims?

Let me know if anyone is running 295/30ZR19's on the stock 19'' wheels. I want Pilot super sports and this is the closest tire size to a 285/30ZR19 they offer. I did the calculations and the 295/30 is only .918% larger in circumference than the 285/30, so I'm wondering if this is enough to set off the car's ABS and traction control.

Thanks,
Josh

I am in the same boat currently, I would love to be able to fit PSS's on my car... but no luck. What did you ended doing? I was debating over the P Zeros or the Michelin PS2s but I have
read that the P Zeros wear very quickly and that the Michelins are not much better for the price. I have also heard that the road noise on the P zeros is louder than it should be once they wear down. I am currently running on 19" rims and the continentals that came with the car. Any info is great as the only reviews on tire rack are for Cameros, vettes and BMWs.
Thanks,
Clay

i drive them all, fast and hard
i have pirellis, and have now 15000 on them, rears need to be changed, fronts are still ok.

im thinking about PSS too, but ive had mixed comments on the thread about whether to go 295 or not, the bigger issue is the wheel width as to whether the stock wheel will fit right in a bigger tire

ams runs there 9000hp e class with PSS in above size and have told me there are no issues

What do you know about the P Zero Silver? Seems like the same thing as the P Zero. Seems like either the Pirellis or the Michelins are the only way to go... Although a tire rack review rate the P Zeros last in their test?

dunno much about the silvers but if they acted like the F1 tires in silverstone, i dont want them

i still dont get why PSS are so much cheaper than P0's in general

i thought michelins were always the more expensive tires

I have the Michelins 295s on the stock rims now for about 2900 miles. No problems and I definitely can feel better traction. Instead of paying 430$ a tire thru MB for P zeros for the rears I paid 300$ a tire for the michelins super sport.

Hahahah this is a very good point about silverstone, what about the PS2s? And where did you pay 300 for michelins? I looked on tire rack and they were the much more expensive tire.

I got wholesale price thru a friends rim shop. I have the Pilot Super Sports. The Pilot Sport PS2 are the same price as P-Zeros. Pictures I will post later, and the fronts I left the P zeros on it because they are in good shape, only the rears I changed. I gotta stop doing the burnouts and going sideways. Tires are too expensive for this car.

I'm running 290/30ZR19 Pilot Super Sports - 2008 SL55 with standard AMG 19x9.5 rear rims. I know Michelin calls for a 10" wide rim for the 290/30-19 tires, but they fit just fine and I have no clearance problems. I can't speak for clearance problems on an E class, but the tires will fit on a 9.5" wide rim.

How many miles do you have on the car? Also how hard do you drive the car/ any sidewall problems? Nice car by the way!

Also for the people running the PSS's on the E63 did you jump up a size on the fronts? I may just replace my rear tires and keep the Continentals on the front. Or just go P0's and not deal with the pain.

FF. W212 E63 M156 non-pano 18" P2 ParkT NightV (gone but will be missed).
I just had my rear tires changed two days ago at the TireRack installation facility at their HQ in South Bend. On the print-out for my 285/35ZR18, I saw a line that says rim width of 8.5"-10". Maybe try calling TireRack and get their thoughts for the 295 width on 9.5" rims.

Thanks - the SL55 is a blast to drive. It's not a great track car, though - at about 4300 lbs it's a dog in sharp turns - lots of understeer, especially on the soft compound OE Bridgestones which got really greasy during my first track outing.

I've got about 1300 miles on the Pilot Super Sports. I autocross it regularly, but haven't yet on the new tires (soon, though). I drive "enthusiastically" (at least when my wife isn't with me). I'll take it to the track again in September and hope the Michelins will help with the understeer.

They're less than an hour from me and has the best installation price around here. Plus I wouldn't have to pay the shipping cost. Unfortunately, that will be the first and last time since I'll be relocating soon.
