Anyone experience this before? i have a 2010 and started the car today at lunch. It's bright sunshine out and the wipers are coming on intermittently.

Nope. The wipers and its rain sensor is not on unless you have switched it on. You might have switched it on, did you? The wipers are still going to wipe in bright sunshine if the system is on.

no, that is completely incorrect. If you have it on intermittent, it only comes on when it senses rain....hence the feature being called "rain sensing"

I actually have experienced this before on my 2011. I thought it may have been because on the 90% humidity that was outside though. Good to know someone else is experiencing the same thing.
Or maybe it's bad?

Turned off the car and when i got back yesterday evening, it didn't appear to happen again. Its raining today and it worked properly. Wierd. Just confirms that you I need to buy that warranty when I'm up for it next year....electrical/cpu work is $$$$$ let alone these are AMGs.

I'm curious, is your battery charge falling below 12.3v?

No idea as I don't keep that close an eye on it but I did have my battery changed 2 months ago. Why do you ask?

This happens sometimes. There are theories that you should leave the wipers in the off position and switch to intermittent when it is raining and such. This is because it recalibrate each time it is switch on. So if you always leave it on, the calibration eventually becomes incorrect to the driving conditions and it will wipe at weird times.

This is only a theory share between a few techs

Only because I've noticed my car do weird things when the battery charge gets low. They seem to disappear when my battery gets recharged. Although I have not expereinced the issue you describe.

Now this is new to me. I didn't know you people leave it in the on position all the time. I only turn it on when it's raining, as with all my other cars. A lot of time, I would prefer there is a sliding intermittent setting like other cars because even the low sensivitiy intermittent setting wipse a little too frequent than my liking.

Rain sensing wipers

I too was wondering about that. Now I know why it was happening. I though, can attribute it to my "blondeness." Thanks for the info!

Good post, Tjdehya. For a moment, I thought I might be the only one switching it off when it's not raining.
