2013 SL63 vs 2013 M5
Managed to get both my SL63 and M5 to the track on the same day thanks to a friends help where we raced them head to head. The results were interesting. Though both completely different cars I don't think you could get a better matchup. Both cars are stock with ~1400 miles on them.
It was in the 90s with very high humidity. Short story is the M5 posted the best trap speed of the night at 118.45 with the SL not far behind at 118.21. The SL however got the lowest time with a 11.906 and the M5 hot on its heels at 11.933. Very interesting races.

Neither outperformed the other. The M5 made a good showing of itself being so large and 280 lbs heavier. At the track someone asked if it was a 7 series. Technically it sort of is as it shares the 7 series platform.

Thanks Jim for the solid comparo---- it appears the M5's DCT helped out as the roll went into higher speeds since its a bigger pig right?

Only the first 3 runs in the vid are any good. The others were just trying to get the M5 launch right. It can be tricky as it likes to lose traction once it's already rolling as can be seen in the videos when the camera starts shaking and you can hear the wheels squealing as it gets to the tree.
