Mercedes Extended Warranty

There is little else as fun as a 09+ C6 Z06 if you're looking for a dedicated track car.
Its a set of shocks, some race rubber, and a harness bar/harness/seat combo away from a durable and dominant car with loads of rewards for relatively low running costs.
An E92 or 911 will be significantly more $$$ in running costs for a slower car.

Now I have mixed emotions, I want something to go wrong to rationalize this stupid boomerang, but I don't because I have high expectations of this breed.

I ended up blowing a **** ton of money CPOing my E63. Approximately 8K to CPO and extend a ELW out to May 2017 unlimited miles. The kicker, they called it a boomerang. I sold them my car and bought it back as a CPO. Of course I had to pay sales tax. Which blows.

I don't know if you can rationalize it. You can do a lot of repairs for $8K even at MB prices.

I just wanted to take a moment to give thanks and kudos to Erin Mahre from Mercedes of Santa Rosa. I just purchased a certified E63 and wanted to add some peace of mind and extend the CPO warranty to 7/135,000. I gave Erin a call and not only did she give me a great price but I was technically over the 30 day period in which you get a 15% discount on the warranty because the dealer filed the paperwork on the day I signed my purchase and sales, not the delivery date. Anyways, she did all the legwork and made all the necessary calls in order to get me within the 30 day window and get the discounted price.
If anyone needs a warranty, I highly recommend her. Her office line is (707)521-3996
Thanks again Erin!!!

To be fair, I did get very competitive quotes from both Mark Eggleston of MB Georgetown, and Jeff Santos of MB ElmBrook, though Mark's was slightly better, and Erin's the best.
All things being equal, I would have still gone with Erin because of the excellent communications and ability to be reached via email or phone, and get timely response. So, give her a call if you need Extended warranty and I am sure you will not be disappointed.
Again, thanks Erin!

Oh, so now they have unlimited miles. Nevertheless, I'm sure I wouldn't be able to reach the mileage before the warranty is up.

Ya, I dealt with Erin too, no problems, a little hard to get a hold of but that's what happens when you're good, everybody wants to deal with you. If I had a unlimited mileage Warrantee I'd probably just drive the Benz all the time. As it stands I have a Jetta TDI wagon I drive my long trips with to keep the miles down on the benz.

The unlimited mileage only applies to CPO cars that you extend the one year coverage out to two or three years. It doesn't apply to new car extended warranty.

Most dealer have other third party warranty companies that they work with. You would have do your own research as to whether they are worth buying. Make sure you get an exclusionary policy ( one that tells you what is not covered other than ones that tell you what is covered). They are usually better suited to this type of car. You can also search the internet. Most of the posters I see on this board drive newer models or bought the OEM extended warranty before the original warranty ran out. Good luck.

Erin Mahre from Mercedes of Santa Rosa is the best Finance Director I've come across in all my years of purchasing vehicles.
I have been holding off to purchase ELW, I was thinking for trading in the Coupe for E550 Sedan or C400. I need the Sedan for the kids and for my wife's 1 hour commute to work.
My coupe has 41k miles. Zero engine issues.
But I love the coupe so much and feel it's a great car, good power, looks good and decent on MPG. 28+ on the Hwy.
Called Erin, she returned my call the same night but I did not pick up. She left a voice mail. Returned her call and followed up with an email. She is extremely busy, specially during the Holiday season and Winter Sales event. Try the morning hours if all possible when dealer is a bit slower.
Erin is very professional and described my 2 options, asked basic information about my usage per year and how often I jump to other vehicles.
I opted for the 100k mile warranty, giving my 3.5 years due to my 20k per year average.
During the transaction, Erin noticed something very strange on the ELW database. To our surprise, the original owner bought 6/100k ELW and traded the coupe after 1 year. Well the ELW was never cancelled and the 3rd party dealer who I bought the car from, did not provide this information.
Over the phone.. Erin saved me over thousands of dollars. I won't quote you the exact amount.. but it was over 3. She changed the ELW to my name and mailed me my new MB ELW contract at no cost.
So impressed with her level of professionalism and honesty. She could of cancelled the original ELW and re-issue a new and made a quick buck. Goes to show you what kind of business person she is, looking for long term business relationships and service.
So I asked her help for a new purchase and obtain financing. I'm going to work with her to get qualified and start looking for my wife's car. At the very least, I want to be financed through her and hope we can find the right car at the right price.
HIGHLY recommend Erin of MB Santa Rosa. Google the dealer, if you look under the dealer staff you will find her contact info.
I emailed the other 2 gentlemen posted on this forum at least twice, and they must be really busy. No fault to them, they probably get lots of email with no intention to buy.
Sending gift basket and gift card next week once we return back from visiting family.

Been posting in the "should I buy prepaid mx plan" thread. But check it out. Prices have gone up double. Please keep us informed if you find a cheaper 7/75k or 7/100k. Thanks.

my buddy shamed me and pointed out an oily puddle I left on his pretty driveway...took it in and now they are working on it, sounds like a big fix
I also have a weird noise when moving the wheel at low speed parking maneuvers and I thought my puddle was steering fluid maybe, but alas it is oil

Yes that's very high.... Last week I purchased a 7/100K Extended Warranty for a '12 that's not a CPO for a little over $6K. My local dealer wanted over $8K but I found a MB dealer in Wisconsin that's giving deals. I think miles on your car have a big impact on what they offer but I'd call Jamie as he's cutting deals for members on the MBworld forum so I saved $1800.

MB adjusted up the prices the ELW last year. Thus that's sounds about right for a total of 7yr since in-service date. Welcome to the party, my friend.

After Market Warranty
I've purchased a Fidelity 6 year bumper to bumper policy for $3800. There is a $200 deductible per incident. Fidelity is the company behind the Audi certified program. You can buy it prior to going over 35,000 miles.
