AMG performance tour Canada
Just coming back from morning session of the AMG tour in Canada... first stop was Montreal then it will move west in the next couple of weeks...
To my surprise they had 2014 models all across except for SLS which was 2013... Ha a chance to try S sedan and wagon. The wagon had CCB and the sedan the cast iron brakes... This is the big dilemna for my order. After trying both, the CCB seems to "bite" more with less pedal effort but from a speed to a full stop I could not see a difference in power, just in feeel. This is after one stop... I don't know about repeated use on a track day... Anyways it was nice to finally sit in a real car!!
First impression, it does not feel like a 3,6 sec car... even if the numbers are there...The 4matic delivers tractrion and the pull is really linear. The C63 (507 edition) felt faster because of brute atmospheric force from the 6,3 liter... and the ESP triggering at WOT in 1st and 2nd... then the SLS is just amazing to drive... They had CLS, SL, SLK, C coupe and sedans,... only CLA45 was missing (arrived in TO but not prepped for Montreral, maybe for next venue!)
So if you have a car on order in canada or are considering, talk to your dealer to get you a spot!

It's a closed environment test drive where you can experience in a variety of exercices (slalom, braking, lane changing etc) the differnent AMG products. It's a tool for dealersmto get people interested in AMG and to make people who are on the fence go for an AMG... Max speed is prob 100-120 km/h so not a track event... They have been doing this for at least 2-3 years as I went when I bought the c63.

Oh OK... Anyways here it was in a big parking lot style environment... No race track needed.

If there isn't any room, no biggie. I would rather spend time in the cars at WOT on a track anyway.

I had actually inquired yesterday with my dealer and they stated that they haven't heard of any Calgary dates scheduled for this year in Calgary and I was hoping that someone heard different.
